Flavor Name:Sesame Ginger Journey Bars are not your typical nutrition bars - our flavors are savory instead of sweet. They are made from almonds and healthy whole grains (like quinoa, amaranth, oats, and flaxseed) and real herbs and spices. And now, all Journey Bars have a new soft and chewy texture. Journey Bars are also lower in sugar than typical sweet nutrition bars, which means they'll give you that lasting energy you'll need to get you through your workout, hike, or just another busy day.

GROSS
These bars are so bizarre, both in taste and texture. I was expecting "very crunchy" because of the other reviewers. They are not "very crunchy" or even slightly crunchy. They are chewy like a brownie or a cookie. The flavor is either actually rancid, or they were aiming for a rancid pizza flavor (in which case, mission accomplished). The flavor is rancid/savory with a strong undertone of sweetness. They are every bit as sweet as they are savory, and it's basically a cookie-like grain cake. Which is strange with a pizza flavor. Nothing about these bars are successful. Unless you're looking for a diet, because these will make you lose your appetite.

taste is terrible
Tastes like maggi cubes. It is eatable but I don't enjoy it at all.I'm still looking for a savory snack for long bicycle rides. My choice for now is "finn crisp caraway rye crispbread". It tastes perfect but not so convenient to consume on the go. Would like to hear if anyone has find something better than crispbread.

GF hypoglycemics rejoice.
I would prefer they did not use canola oil in their recipe, but it is nice to have a less sweet option for gluten free food bars with a decent amount of protein. It's not like you are going to crave these for their flavor, but they are pleasant enough and do the job.

Good, but original recipe was much better.
I loved the original recipe of this bar. I don't remember the ingredient change (I think other buyers have highlighted this in other reviews) but it definitely affected the quality. That being said, it is still a great bar for those that don't want a sugar laden experience like you get from clif bar or powerbar.

Savory goodness
These are a nice alternative to the usual "meal" bars which are largely candy bars with a bit of grain. These savory bars really are a meal in a bar with protein, fat and carbohydrate. I was surprised that the texture is more chewy than crunchy with just a bit of underlying crunch from the grains.

Yummy savory bars
A nice change from super-sweet supplement bars. I keep a few in my purse for days I forgot breakfast or am still hungry after lunch. My kids don't love them, but they're used to ones with chocolate and such. So more for me! These are definitely my favorite nutrition bar out there!

I rely on these for travel
These are crumbly but otherwise terrific for those of us who avoid sugar. Sea salt is the best, in my opinion - the other flavors are a bit weird. Wish that these were gluten-free so I could feed them to my kids.

I wanted to like these, but they are just not very good
I wanted to like these, but they are just not very good. The texture is OK, but they have a weird taste that is stronger in some bites than others...almost like nutmeg, but not. Will continue my search for a savory protein bar.
