The US M-1928 Haversack is an updated version of the M1910 Haversack, a pack that revolutionized the way military gear was carried. Instead of carrying their load from a cartridge belt, the haversack allowed a soldier to carry his personal gear on his back. To pack the haversack, lay on the ground removing the straps to allow it to unfold and lay flat. Ration tins, personal clothing and gear are placed on the haversack, and laced to secure the load, measuring 15.5" x 10.5" when laced and packed. The removable 8x6.5" can pouch was designed to carry a mess kit and utensils. The standard issue M1910 T-Handle shovel can be secured underneath the meat can pouch. This reproduction of the M1928 Haversack is marked 1942, and includes the mess tin pouch and pack tail (aka diaper.) Note: Size: The straps on these packs are the same length as originals. Thus, if you are over 6' in height, or if you're a large size person, these may not fit.
