Buy Turkish Long Neck Mahogany And Maple Baglama Saz For Sale CSL-113: Lutes - desertcart.com ✓ FREE DELIVERY possible on eligible purchases Review: Professionalism and Integrity - I ordered this saz for my son as a Christmas gift. It took quite a long time to get through US Customs and the holiday Postal Service delays, but it was well worth the wait! My son is extrememly happy with it and says, "this saz looks and sounds beautiful - great tone and craftsmanship!" Throughout the time of shipping delays, I was in good communication with SalaMuzic. Veysel was very quick to respond to my emails and answer my questions. I truly appreciate his professionalism and integrity. He was great to work with! Review: Excellent service, excellent value for money - As an aspiring beginner to the bağlama saz/tembûr I never thought it would be possible to get a basic instrument without spending a fortune. I have been happily proved wrong. My saz came quickly, I was provided with a tracking number so that I could follow its journey and the seller was attentive and went out of their way to help. The instrument was very well packed and got to the other side of the world unscathed! The instrument's quality is great particularly considering the reasonable price though I assume the tone and manufacture of the more expensive models would be superior. The free soft case, strings and saz plectrums (tezene) were a great bonus too. I would definitely consider buying from trirmusic/Sala Musik in the future when upgrading (they have a great variety of Turkish and Persian instruments) and would recommend them to others at a heartbeat.

good value, not an ethnic guitar
For it's price this Turkish 7-string instrument, a sort off longneck lute, is good. Do NOT 'tune it up' like a guitar, for in that case all of the strings will (!) break, except the 'second' of 'sixth', the thickest one, which usually 'must' be tuned to G or A (that's as low as the A2 tone on a guitar / piano). G2 / A2 sounds in most ears rather low (bass-like). Pretty sound. That's logical, as the double / triple strings sound like a large mandoline through a chorus effectpedal. The strings and frets cause no pain. Due to the distance betweenn the frets you can play chromatic plus SOME microtones. A guitarist and cellist (like I ) will find this instrument easy to play, although it has a longer neck, one of the reasons why it sounds deep or full. Also with better strings (a 5 euro set is good enough) it gets easily out of tune after a week or so, or when you play wildly, but the tuning pegs work fine (till now). This type of instrument is too difficult to understand for most (western) people who are young / small or for beginners who are not used to string instruments and / or some (Arabic, Turkish, Iranian) music theory. However, playing "Frere Jacques" (in Dutch "Vader Jakob") or Bach's "Menuet", after just half a day of practice, is possible; at least a bit more easy than when you are a beginner on the violin, cello or fretless (blues)-guitars. Related to the Saz / Baglama is the Setar (from Iran), which is smaller (easier), higher tuned (even more vulnarable) and the Setar DOES have adjustable / removable frets (the saz and guitar do not). I don't care how an instrument looks, but people around me say this saz is very pretty. By the way: it weighes 'nothing', which is good news for electric guitar / bass players. If you are not shure about this or that (e.g. the price, some guitars and setars are cheaper), then perhaps try a shorter (cheaper, easier) saz baglama, than this long one. I bought it via Amazon (USA), but it obviously ships from 'nearby' my country (Netherlands). I had to pay circa 25% import fees, because Turkey doesn't belong to the EU. Buying directly from Sala Muzik in Turkey, is an option, but via (an American or European) Amazon is probably easier and / or less risky.

Wonderful Instrument
Bought this after toying with the idea for years. This Saz sings. Despite watching countless videos, nothing compares to the sound this makes in real life. It came with all items as described without so much as a scratch. The Saz is very light and constructed well. It arrived in roughly 3 weeks to Texas, USA which was remarkable. I am very happy with this purchase and hope to get good enough so I can justify purchasing a more professional saz. Until then I will continue to have a blast with this. A general note, the tuning pegs are interference fit. Meaning they pop in and out. If you have trouble tuning your saz, like I did, you just need to twist the peg and push in so it tightens down.

Great Baglama
Beautiful instrument and very playable. Experiment with the various tunings you find online. I was able to tune mine in A G D from top string to bottom. It also comes with extra string, picks and is equipped with a jack to go electric which you might try as it is a very quiet instrument..

I highly recommend SalaMuzik!
I ordered a baglama, stand, and accessories from SalaMuzik. Unfortunately, there was a mishap during transit and my order arrived in unusable condition. Amazon put me in contact with owner Mr. Veysel Sala. After describing my ordered items and sending a few photos, Veysel immediately refilled my original order and shipped the items express. The instrument and stand were of excellent quality and provided good value for the money. Veysel was highly professional, quick to communicate, helpful, friendly, a true gentleman and an absolute delight to work with. I would be pleased to order again from SalaMuzik and highly recommend this seller. My Thanks and Regards to Veysel! J. Carpenter

Great Value For Beginner/Intermediate Level
The CSL-113 is an excellent choice for beginner/intermediate level. I tried a variety of tunings but in my opinion A2A3 G3G3 D3D4D4 worked best. Also, the package arrived within five business days from almost halfway across the globe in very good condition (I chose DHL Express).
