Victoria Hesketh a.k.a Little Boots started her career writing her songs and posting covers on Youtube and Myspace pages. The videos soon became an online sensation generating interest from both fans and music executives in the UK.The interest resulted in a major record deal, soon after Little Boots was in the studio recording her debut album 'Hands' which was released in the UK on June 8th, 2009. The album debuted at #5 in the UK and is now certified gold. Prior to the album release Little Boots received a tremendous amount of media coverage from both UK and US publications including Rolling Stone (who labeled her as '...a new kind of megastar') NME, Fader (cover feature), Billboard, Esquire, The Guardian, Spin and more. With the release of 'Hands' in the UK, the US simultaneously released the digital EP 'Illuminations', which included the underground club hit New In Town'. Shortly after, Little Boots released the 'New In Town' Remix EP and the dance club sensation 'Remedy Remix EP'. In addition to the extensive press coverage and a full live show broadcast on NBC's Last Call with Carson Daly, Little Boots has played sold out shows all across Europe as well as several sold out shows in the US.In preparation for the US release of 'Hands' on the newly re-launched Elektra Records, Little Boots will be headlining a US tour beginning on March 2nd to celebrate the release of the album, and will be playing at US festivals this spring/summer.'Hands' is considered by many critics as an album with 'well-crafted' pop songs and 'diverse' production. The albumprimarily features songs about love, relationships, and heartbreak, and takes influence from a variety of music styles such as disco, 1980's pop, and Eurodance. The first two singles, 'New in Town' and 'Remedy', reached the top fifteen and top ten in the UK, respectively. With all of the momentum and accolades, 2010 is the year for Little Boots to gain national stardom in the US.

Joyful Remedy
I remember first hearing her gorgeous music, and I was honestly on the fence whether to get the cd. I then heard many of her songs while shopping, and then my mind was made up to definitely purchase. She has a very gorgeous and one of a kind voice. I really love how the songs were creatively selected to showcase her wonderful voice. You definitely get your money's worth on this cd because many of the songs are very exciting, joyful, and unique. This collection invokes euphoric feelings within me every time I listen to it. Many who listen to these songs are going to come away with a sense of an emotional boost. My personal favorites in this cd are "Remedy", "Symmetry","No Brakes" and "Hearts Collide". "Remedy" discusses how she is going to resist temptation with her cures (music and dancing). It is a good song because music and dancing are healthy choices to increase one's fullfillment levels. "Symmetry" is a musical number where the singer does a good duet with the lead singer of Human League. Her and Human League's lead singer sound harmonious together. "No Brakes" is about how love can overtake you at unexpected times. "Hearts Collide" is a very beautiful and catchy song about how a person wants to proactively pursue the one they are attracted to. My two favorite songs on the cd are "Hearts Collide", and "Remedy". The woman singing these songs on this cd has a very beautiful voice to go with the many melodic and smooth songs in this collection. I definitely agree that this is one of the best cds of 2010. If you crave good music to add to your collection from 2010 then this definitely is a cd to add. She deserves to attract more attention in America because she is that talented.

Tune in to this album
I was listening to this album today and had forgotten how good it is. It's a throwback to 80s synth pop & dance music. It came out a few years ago around the same time as other retro sounding albums by Ladyhawke, Annie, and La Roux. My favorite track on it is Earthquake, which was the song I heard first and decided to buy the album for it. The whole album is good. My other favorite songs on it are Click, Tune Into My Heart, and Symmetry, a great duet with Phil Oakey. I also really like New In Town, although the radio single mix is a little better IMO. It has some added sounds in it that make the song really pop. But I recommend this album to electro/retro pop fans. Also, if you enjoy this one, check out the Illuminations EP.

Thanks old pal!
Some buddys of mine saw her live, then I saw her play the Tenori-on or stylophone... whatever it is it's rad. Saw her perform on youtube... Very talented to say the least. My favorite song "New In Town". Her lyrics are not half bad either. I can only hope she sticks around for a while and keeps delivering her unique style and voice. Teach me something while you are at it!

It's a good pop-dance electronic!!!!
Before I didn't know this artist...I think that this cd contains a good pop-dance electronic!!! Little Boots have a fantastic and amazing voice!!! For me is similar to September (do you know the Swedish singer?)...There are any songs that comeback to 80's and 90's as kind...they are very pleasant to listen!!!My favourite songs are "Earthquake", "Remedy", "Mathematics" and "Simmetry"!!!

Beware Outgassing
It's a great album but the PVC sleeve causes outgassing, creating permanent white noise.

Edgy-techno on the rocks with a romantic twist, please.
At last! a modern approach to techno music in a way I can understand every word, and enjoy it!! Little boots album re-assure us that no matter where we are in our lives, we will have room for a little romance even in the form of funky, edgy, techno backgrounds found in her album "Hands". Is also refreshing to hear that sometimes we are "stuck on repeat" and we don't think about it until we listen to this song. All her songs are pleasant and have a message or something to share with all of us in a certain point in time. Highly recommended.

TENORI-ON and on and on
Who said electronica is dead...Very catchy, very dance-able, strong bass line that wont make it annoying, the vocals carry on a little strong, but luckily she can sing. You should easily find a handful of favorites to justify a buy.

Pop and Enjoyable
I'd heard several of her songs before deciding to buy the album. I follow the UK weekly charts and had fallen in love with "Remedy" and "New in Town" before picking up Hands. I am appreciative of her work but at times her lyrics in combination with the music is often a little too light and pop for me. However in this album there is variety while still being cohesive and I enjoyed each and every track.
