I am a photographer and not in the insurance claims business. But last year and again this last weekend a friend hired me to join him to photograph at total of well over a hundred cars damaged by hail. When we did it last year we struggled in he sun with lined umbrellas as we attempted to better see and photograph the dings/dents. When driving from location to location we saw someone inspecting a vehicle using one of these dent reflectors. As soon as my friend asked me to join him a this last time I ordered two to surprise him with. There is no way in the world we could have finished the out-of-town job in time without these reflectors. I reviewed the various ones here on Amazon and though many looked the same I went with these that were more expensive than others hoping it made a difference. Without using the others I can't say if they are actually different or not. We didn't notice any horrible chemical smell as I saw others write about another brand (even though they might all originate at the same factory for all I know). The main thing to know besides that they work is that the plastic handle will, without a doubt, break off almost right away unless there is no breeze, you're only inspecting a couple of cars and barely move it around. The one my friend was using broke quickly and mine not too much later. Though it would be nice if they had actually had the two sides of the handle screwed together and not just clipped, it thankfully didn't end up making much of a difference. They are a good size, fold up easily into a nice zipper bag, they are sturdy once opened, etc.
