Dormeo Premium Queen Breathable Mattress Topper - Octaspring

I love this mattress topper. It is well made, fit my queen size bed perfectly, and is extremely comfortable. Great purchase !

Update: I've slept on this topper for 2 weeks now and I absolutely love it! I'm a side sleeper and this cushions my hips and I sleep soundly without waking up with hip pain. Very happy and definitely recommend it. I've only had this topper for a week. So far I do like it. It has seemed to help considerably with my hip pain ( I'm a side sleeper), tho not a lot with my shoulder pain. I will qualify that by saying, I do need a new pillow as well. I can tell that it conforms to my body shape so it better supports my side sleeping by eliminating pressure points. It has definitely improved the quality of my sleep and has improved the comfort of my 9-year-old tempurpedic hybrid mattress. My mattress pad and sheets fit over it fine, which was one thing I was worried about. It does make my mattress considerably taller and it is a little bit harder to get into the bed. Not enough taller that I feel like I need a step though. I will update this review, if I can figure out how to do that, after a couple more weeks or a month of sleeping on it. So far though, I would say definitely worth the money.

It is a cold, cold topper and I do not like being cold. I unzipped the cover and washed it. I walked on the uncovered topper in my thin socks and my feet got cold. I had a pillow with blue colored pieces of foam and it was too cold. Fortunately, I had extra foam pieces and was able to salvage that pillow. There are six rows of blue foam stars at each end with 5 rows of white foam stars in between. These rows of foam stars are sandwiched in between two flat sheets of foam. The top sheet is softer than the bottom studier sheet of foam. I'll use this with a sleep number mattress that I already have and will put it UNDER the inflated mattress. There's room for it because I got rid of the rigid border and substituted foam from another complete foam mattress that I tried. I initially carved out room in the foam mattress to put in the sleep number inflated mattress. Then I removed all of the inner foam and just left a foam ring around the sleep number mattress. I got one of those Tempur-Pedic mattresses that comes in a bag. It is too soft for me. I had a lumbar laminectomy in September of 1990 due to a herniated disc. I was putting the sleep number mattress on top of the Tempur-Pedic mattress when I ordered this topper. But I got the bright idea of removing the sleep number mattress and flipping the Tempur-Pedic mattress over with the much firmer side up and that was working for me (see below). The sleep number mattress was causing a pressure point discomfort at my hip joint. I am a side sleeper and switch sides during the night. I also need to sleep with a pillow between my legs. I only got up once last night vs 2 or 3 or 4 times with the sleep number mattress, depending on the temperature and hip pressure point discomfort. So, it's all good and I'm keeping the topper. I knew I could use it even though I feared that it might be cold. It is COLD folks. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise. I did put the topper on my bed but had to take it off a few hours later. I need to be able to lay flat on my back with the head of the bed elevated a little to watch TV/Netflix. I have a middle back injury that affects my stomach. All of those foam star springs were pressing against my back, and I got a stomachache after a few hours. At least I tried. You never know for sure unless you try. Otherwise, I might've kept it on for the rest of the summer and then removed it when the cold weather hit. (Update 9-1-2023) The Tempur-Pedic mattress started bothering my lower back injury so I got up in the middle of the night and put the sleep number mattress back on top of the Tempur-Pedic mattress. In the last photo I show the bottom side of the sleep number mattress after I stuffed the topper on top of it. That is the side that I am sleeping on. So, the topper is on the bottom of the sleep number mattress. The soft foam of the topper is facing down. But that means it is facing up when I sleep on the sleep number mattress. That's because I flipped the topper core before zipping the cover back together. If you didn't do any of that then you can achieve the same effect by making the top of the topper face the bottom of the sleep number mattress. I can lie flat on my back on the sleep number mattress and it doesn't bother my middle back injury. I can side sleep on the sleep number mattress and the pressure points at my shoulder and hip are much better with the topper acting as a bottomer. So, I upped my score from a 2 to a 4 and am happy with my purchase.

This is a long review but it is honest. 1st of all, did this topper solve my back pain? No. Why not? My back pain is from arthritis and a disc problem that can only be resolved with surgery. I suspect that most people who complained it did not solve their back pain also have a bone problem like me and not a muscular problem. My guess is that this topper would work well on muscular pain as it is very comfortable. I have a futon with a standard futon mattress that I am using as a guest bed. I keep it as a bed all the time but if I need to change it to a sofa the topper roles up for storage. I like the octaspring technology as it adds to the comfort of the topper and gives great support. I would have liked it be 4 inches instead of 3 but I guess there is a reason for 3. Lets get to some of negative reviews like it slips and slides all over the place. That is just plain BS. It comes with 4 adjustable corner straps so if you put it on correctly it can't move. Now, lets talk about the return policy. Yes, Dormeo gives you 100 days in which you can utilize their return policy, but, you have to purchase from them directly. Purchasing through Amazon you have to use Amazon's return policy. If you can't determine whether you like it or not within 30 days, something is wrong. Oh, by the way, the cost is identical. I chose to use Amazon because I wanted the points. 30 days is more than enough time for me to determine whether I like it or not. If you want to see Dormeo's return policy, go to their web site. Their policy is different. They don't want the product back. This topper is not cheap, but I think it is worth the extra cost. Of course I don't know how long it will hold up, but, like I said before, I'm using it on a standard futon mattress and it really makes a difference.

This is very well made and a great topper. I have back problems and was looking for something very firm. This didn't work for me because of my back problem but I would recommend it to anyone needing a topper. It is so much better than the solid foam toppers.

It’s not as comfortable as they say my $50 mattress topper I bought for that is more comfortable to sleep on dormeoTV ad is inaccurate. It does not stop my shoulder pain and it is too firm not as comfortable as they make it out to be

This mattress is NOT for side sleepers though when I asked this question the response from the Amazon Alexa was "Yes, the Dormeo Premium Queen Mattress Topper is excellent for side sleepers". I received my topper, slept on it for the full 30-day "break-in period", and every muscle group in my body was screaming in pain. So I asked Google AI the direct question of "Have people reported having muscle aches from the Dormeo 3-Zone Topper?" The answer was "Yes" and then AI asked what was my sleeping position. "Side sleeper". Answer from AI, "For a side sleeper, the Dormeo topper 3-Zone Smart Support" is the direct cause of your muscle aches. The firm center zone is designed to support the lower back, but for side sleepers, it creates a hard barrier that jams against your hops and shoulders rather than letting them sink in. This misalignment forces your spine into an unnatural curve, straining your back and hip muscles overnight" So, side sleeper Stay Away. I had an accident a few years ago, and because of that, my mattress isn't very comfortable, and buying a new one now is really expensive. I wake up with back and lower back pain, and it's hard to get out of bed. A friend told me about “Dormeo Premium.” After thinking about it for a while, I decided to buy it. I waited a week to write this review. I’m surprised at how much better I feel. I don’t know how long it will last, but I’d rather give it a try and let time tell if it was a good purchase. For now, I’m happy with it. I’m giving it four stars because it doesn’t come with any instructions—like how to clean it or whether I should change positions. I think I’ll have to ask the Dormeo company itself.

Couldn’t believe how a full sized mattress topper could be shipped in such a compact package! The product itself gave a comfortable new life to an aging bed and It’s durable, washable, and looks great! Considerably cheaper and infinitely easier to install than a new mattress/ comes with adjustable straps that you anchor over your existing mattress to lock the topper in place.

Just had to try this as I had heard a lot about it. First night I just kept tossing and turning all night. Decided to keep trying it and glad I did. On the second night I slept right through the night.... and am still sleeping through two weeks later. Got a really good sale on it for Prime Day. Might be a good sale on Black Friday as well. Amazon is definitely cheaper than the actual company. Love it!!

It works better then our foam topper for being cooler for sleeping. It is medium firmness, I would like it a bit softer but it certainly helps with hips and shoulders.

Outstanding product. My bed was brand new but still too firm so we picked up one of these to help soften it. My goodness, what a massive difference it has made. The mattress feels like a dream. Could not recommend this more positively. It also stays put in place and does not slip at all. Absolutely like a dream to sleep on. My only negative is the price of this. I have to agree with many of the comments on Amazon that this is very expensive for what it is but at the same time, it is amazing to sleep on and what price comfort and a good night's sleep so no regrets either because it really made a huge difference to the quality of our sleep. Now almost 2 months later, and not changed my opinion one bit. By a mile the best mattress topper we have ever slept on. It really is like a dream. Going to purchase another for our Queen bed. It is expensive, but I would not trade it for anything.
