Does what it says
Bought these to replace some 20 year old ones that overtime became brittle and failed. Installed real easy and tapped them in with a mallet. Holding well in masonry.

Just what I expected.
These plastic Shutter-Lok fasteners are just fine if you have nothing but siding, with nothing solid behind it on which to mount your shutters. I used these on an a shed / outbuilding with only a layer of siding. On my house, the shutters were attached into brick with the screw in blue colored Tapcon fasteners (concealed with plastic screw caps for cosmetic reasons)...nice and strong they will not blow off in aggressive winds like the plastic ones did. To sum up, although these Shutter-Lok Fasteners are fast and easy to use, I wouldn't use these when attaching shutters to brick or wood siding...they just won't do the job long term or survive harsh conditions. But if you've got only vinyl or aluminum siding to attach to, these are probably the best solution. When brand new, they fasten pretty snug and if they do get pulled out due to wind they will not rip up your siding like a fastener that expands behind the siding might.

Good value, but you get one chance to install them
The good: Marketplace seller shipped much faster than originally quoted, and I received 4 "bonus" fasteners in the package, which I ended up needing. That's the bad: the plastic used is very flexible and permanently deforms if the fasteners are inserted at anything other than a 90 degree angle. Once the fastener's "teeth" engage in the wall, they can't be removed and re-inserted, so make sure your mounting holes are deep enough. Given that this plastic feels more like styrene than polyethylene, I'm wondering how well they'll hold up to UV/sunlight, but at least they're inexpensive.

Exact match for OEM fasteners
This is an exact match for the broken Shutter-Lob Fastener which our builder used to install the shutters 15 years ago. I had to drill out the part of the fastener broken in the brick on my house. MUST make sure to get all the old, broken fastener out of the hole. I replaced all the fasteners, even if not broken. Then I put a small amount of silicone in the hole and carefully pushed the shutter/Shutter-Lok Fastener into the holes.

Same as original equipment
Exactly the same as the 12 year old part that failed so install was easy. Deliver was quick and price was ok.

They worked perfect, we right back into original holes with a ...
Repainted my old, worn out shutters myself, ordered these new fasteners to rehang them. They worked perfect, we right back into original holes with a couple taps of the hammer. I would recommend not painting the heads until AFTER you have them in place. Just spray paint or brush the top to match the rest of the shutter if this is your project. I painted them before hand and the hammer knocked the paint off so I had to go back over them. Recommend these for any DIY shutter project!

Shoddy plastic
These shutter fasteners are too long and came in wrong size (I ordered 3 inches long ones, but I got way longer ones!) I had to cut them in half to try and use them. What a joke. They easily break upon trying to hammer them into place, even though the hole in the brick is the correct size and depth. After breaking several, I finally got two to hold the shutter. Shoddily made and poor customer service sending me the wrong size!

Worked fine but.....
Due to the cost of these fasteners I would use a metal screws and caps instead. These "lock" and can only be used once.
