Hutzler 3-in-1 Fruit Saver Basket, Colander and Container, 2 Quarts, Green

I eat a lot of grapes, and I like to thoroughly rinse them first. This fruit basket is ideal for rinsing the grapes and keeping them moist and fresh. I put the grapes into the colander while it's in the bowl in the sink. I then spray-rinse the grapes, which also fills the bowl and immerses the grapes. Then I pull the colander up out of the bowl, which lets the water drain out. I empty the water from the bowl, put the colander back in the bowl, put the cover on, and refrigerate. The grapes have been thoroughly rinsed, and stay well preserved. I use the same approach for cherries. One warning: cleaning the bowl on the lower rack of the dishwasher caused it to be slightly distorted, and the top would no longer fit snuggly. But I consider that to be my fault, not a flaw in the product - there has been no problem on the top rack of the dishwasher. This product is very well designed!

I had purchased another brand in the past that had a removable bottom. They no longer make the removable tray so I went in search of a replacement. I ordered 2 different sizes of these and I like them more than the product I was replacing. The removable basket is easy to clean the fruit in and drain and then place in the container. You can lift out the fruit and basket and remove the moisture at the bottom and it keeps fruit and produce much longer. Very pleases

My daughter clued me in to these keepers, and I have purchased several so we can always have fresh berries on hand in the fridge. She told me to fill the container with berries, cold water and a couple of tablespoons of white vinegar as soon as the berries come home from the store. Allow them to soak about 5-10 minutes, then rinse with clear, cold water. Drain. Place a folded paper towel in the bottom of the tray below the basket, and refrigerate. Berries that used to last only a couple of days have been staying fresh for a week or more!

I LOVE these. Originally bought smaller one at local grocery store. I put a paper towel inside under basket. Rinse item (berries, etc) in basket place inside on top of paper towel and close lid. My berries have never lasted this long.

I think these are crazy overpriced. Honestly, it should be $10 max, but I love them and keep buying more. My fruit stays fresh sooo much longer. This size is great for grapes or two pints strawberries!

I really like this product. Very easy to use, no need to use a separate colander. After rinsing the fruit, the inner basket keeps the fruit lifted off the bottom and prevents sogginess. My old container that I used was similar to this one but eventually the lid would not stay snapped on. Hoping that won't be an issue with this one but I guess time will tell. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase

I bought several of these containers in different colors. They do help to.preserve fruit and having a special container has motivated me to prepare fruits for refrigeration. The containers are inexpensive, cleans easily, and seal securely. Overall, they are a good value.
