My Superhero Solution
I temporarily lived in a 3rd floor apartment and adopted a huge pitbull without knowing he has a fear of stairs. No matter what I couldn't get him over his fear, and he was still so stressed out and anxious from the pound that forcing him up the stairs just wasn't working for us. He would actually just lie down on the stairs and refuse to go up or get aggressive with me when I tried to make him (after all this was a new scary place and a stranger forcing him to do something he hated). So it came to the point that I, a 120lb girl, would carry my nearly 80lb pitbull up 3 flights of stairs AT LEAST 5-8 times a day (he was not yet potty trained when I adopted him, and our entire apartment was carpet). I physically couldn't do it anymore, and I was so frustrated. This thing was my superhero...I put it out on our patio and I would just put puppy pads under the entire thing, and replace this every week. He was slow to warm up to it, but I read online that you need to make it smell like his pee (I just used a rag that I had used to clean up after him and rubbed it all over the grass.. gross I know, but it worked like a charm and this girl was desperate people). Once he used it the first time, he never had another accident in the house, and he never had any issues with using it.Obviously this thing will start to smell if you don't clean it, but I didn't have any issues with this 1) because it was outside on my patio, so it got to air out and 2) every week/other week when I would change the pads out, I would splash boiling water all over the surface. This did the trick for me although I did see some people saying they would put it in their shower or in a washing machine-that was just alitttttllllle too much for me. Those are my clean spaces haha so I didn't want doggie funk all up in them. Not to mention the large size I got was pretty heavy and would be a major pain to carry anywhere (let alone through the middle of my cramped apartment), so I was happy to leave it out on the patio from the time I got it to the time I moved out and threw it away.As I said earlier, I only lived in that apartment temporarily (about 3 months) before I moved into a house with a big yard for my buddy, so I cant speak on whether or not this holds up long term, but it showed no signs of shedding, ripping, or melting from boiling water after 3 months of big dog use, and I will say my dog did not go easy on it. Hes a chewer and a digger, but the mat held up great and youd never be able to tell. Great Quality and I highly recommend as a solution to anyone in an apartment or without access to a grass space.

I'm lazy and this serves the purpose
We usually have a backyard where I can open the door and let the dogs out. We recently bought a small vacation home and realized that was not possible there. It had an elevated porch, but otherwise I would have to take the dogs for walks. My husband found this and it has been a lifesaver. One dog likes to get up at early hours and there is no way we are doing a typical walk at 3am. We put this on the porch and they both immediately went to it. I wash it off (top and bottom) several times a day as direct sun and heat can make it smelly. Highly recommend it!

My German Shepherd won't use anything else... sadly
So I made the mistake of training my 8 week old German Shepherd puppy on this thing. I live in a high-rise and thought this would be perfect for potty training a new puppy instead of trying to avoid accidents in the elevator on the way downstairs.Yep, I was right. Very easy to train a puppy to this. No hallway or elevator accidents. Yay.Now my dog is 7 months old, 80 lbs, and ONLY uses this thing.I guess I can say 5 stars for ease of use, but I walk this dog every dang day and STILL can't get him to go potty in real grass. Beware. I'm hoping he starts marking soon so he'll pee outside, in nature, for once.Pros: Lasts for a while, can be cleaned with bleach, keeps pee from trickling over the edge of my balcony onto the balcony below us.Cons: I'm on my fourth one of these things. It will stink after a month or so no matter how much bleach you use on it.

Bella's potty pad
We trained her to use it. We keep it in the garage. On days it rains, she will not go out on wet grass out side. This is our third one to order. Easy to wash. We ordered the tray that goes under it.Works great, very thankful to have it.

Hard to cut it and after 2 months- horrible smell
I got blisters from cutting that thing. It's so thick you need a saw to cut thru it. I'm using it as a back up for my pet loo. When the pet loo grass is drying I put this one and when this one is drying I use the grass that came with the pet loo. I wash the grass with Ajax soap and scrub a little not to get it on my face/eyes. I also throw a little bit of bleach but be careful bc the bleach made the grass look a little yellow but that's ok still looks like grass outside. Sometimes I thow some boiling water on it after I wash it just to ensure it's clean and doesn't smell.UPDATE- it's now April I bought this in Feb. 2 months later- I've been washing this once per week. I'm really picky with the cleaning bc I hate bad odors. I bought this one bc it was cheaper than the pet loo grass but I just ordered the actual pet loo grass bc that one doesn't smell as bad as this one and I bought them both at the same time. So I'm getting a second pet loo grass even though is way more expensive than this one. The stench is sooo bad no matter what I use to clean it. I even use dish soap and other urine destroyer products but the grass just retains the smell. Giving it 1 star bc it was hard to cut and after only 2 months it stinks and the pet loo grass does not- I use the same exact cleaning technique and products for both for 2 months. I'm waiting for my order of the expensive pet loo grass to arrive. That's what happens when you try to save money.

It works
Puppy peed on it right away. It's thick and not thin amd cheap looking so that's a plus.

Excellent outdoor potty pad for little dogs
We live in the VERY hot desert where most landscaping is rocks. This potty pad of faux grass is the best quality I have purchased; it stays cool (with obvious care) in our 110+ degree heat, it drains completely, is easily cleaned and hosed off, and it’s soft for tender little four-legged fur babies. My two 8 lb. poodles took right to it with zero issues! Yay! We prepared the plain dirt underneath by mixing small gravel for further drainage. In addition, we placed two pieces of heavy garden art on each end to keep it in place during heavy winds. Or, drive plastic stakes into the four corners, if wind is an issue in your area. Highly recommend this brand!
