Awesome
i don't do a lot of reviews but since this can help the kids i will do one, my little boy got out the back window a few days ago think god i have a full 6 foot fence but with in 5 minutes i noticed him and now im into safety mode,i was thinking bars for my windows would cost 100 or more per window for something good ,i was wrong i got these and this is so strong ,was packaged good and shipped fast ,i have a alarm system and a camera system and don't live in the best neighborhood but in the summer i like to keep a window open or 2 and its a pain to by pass the alarm so i leave it off at night, so i installed this bar on the outside of my window it fit perfect in the frame holes are great but i re drilled 2 so i could angel 4 inch screws into the studs . took me about 20 minutes total and they thing is soild as a rock .. i all ready feel safer with my window open i can still put my fan in it and i do not at all have to worry about my boy getting out the house or anyone crawling in at night no more.. ok now if there is a fire i will not be able to get out this window , so i have 7 windows down stairs im going to put these on the 3 that would most likely be broken into and let me alarm cover the rest . if u have a window your scared to leave open or a window the kids mess with get this it will give you 100 percent piece of mind, them safety latches are nice but i know my kid could open them within 15 minutes ,he will not be able to open this and i can sleep with fresh air at night again this is a 6 star product !!!!

Sturdy and simple
Good quality feel. We put these over our garage windows as added securityCan’t be too careful these days.Easy to install.I would suggest throwing away the screws that came with it and using some aggressive longer wood screws. I know the Un-reversible screws are meant for outside installation but they’re weak and a real pain to use.Do yourself a favor and install them on the inner window frame, screwing into the sides rather than straight on. It’ll be much stronger that way.

good, but security screws are annoying
Good for toddler windows (we have another egress in the room but these are solid and not removable for fire which could matter for some rooms). Low profile but provides good safety cover for our windows that go down to about 6 inches above floor in a toddler room. Throw away the screws that come with it and just use your own 2 inch or longer screws. The security screws they send with it are a disaster. Once we threw them out it was quick and easy to install

Extra security
I bought 18 of these bars in various lengths and widths for extra security on my rear, side, and basement windows. I live on a 1.5 acre lot with a wooded area behind me that's pitch black at night. A previous house by my wife was broken into a few years back with 2ft of snow on the ground in broad daylight so I take security seriously. The bars blend in with the white wood blinds and vinyl window casing so they are not noticeable until you get really close up on them. My only issue is all of the bars I received from Amazon, the clear plastic surrounding them was torn and the small plastic bag containing the screws attached to one of the bars by a zip-tie all had holes in them. Not all of the screws came with the bars and others the screws were scattered throughout the shipping box. I don't look at this as a Amazon issue but more of an issue with the cheap packing by the manufacture. The bars serve their purpose but be aware you will have to purchase screws to install them.

Looks like it will do the job
Didn't like my garage window unprotected, so I slapped this little beauty up. It is not as big as my window, but it will keep my tool chest from being a smash and grab (or drag).

Strong and Sturdy.... I am very happy w/purchase
Far better than I expected; I might buy another one too. Solid and well made; easy to install. I recommend. Even though it states these are not burglary bars BUT child protection bars only I found them to be superior. Thank youUpdate: I'm guying 2 more/4 bar set. :)

It's great, the screws are hard to use.
It's great, I was able to mount it on the window. However, I used Ikea screws instead. The screws that come with it are hard to use. Could you put a normal Philips screws in the package?

Peace of mind
Love these. I live on the second floor of an apartment building that is an old renovated mill, with super high ceilings, so the second floor windows are 20+ feet from the ground. My dogs are just tall enough to look out the windows when they stand on their back legs, and I never left the windows open when I left for fear they'd jump straight through the screens. Now I can open my windows without fear of an accident and the peace of mind is absolutely worth the $50 I spent on two for two windows.Do take note of the measurements! They are not as "tall" as you might expect so you might not get the coverage you're looking for - know what you are ordering! And as other reviewers have mentioned, the screws that come with the window guard have a weird head that is neither Phillips nor flat - I just used different screws with no trouble at all.
