GoBoard® Waterproof Backer Board Kit 6 Sheets | Easy Installation Shower Wall Board

This kit is perfect for a Tub to shower conversion if you do not install niches. We created several niches in our shower for everything we use. This made it quite tight on the available board for covering all of the them, but we made it, one more board would have been perfect. The board goes up nicely, the way it cuts is very easy. There are plenty of screws to put the board up. The tubes of adhesive was not enough, again because of the the number of niches we added. We only needed one more tube. The KBRS adhesive does have a strong off gas smell and it does have a warning on it about a danger for people with asthma, my wife walked into the room after we had been working several hours after we had stopped using it and almost immediately started to cough, so warning to anyone who has Asthma. one additional problem with the GoBoard that nobody seems to talk about is it has a slight fiberglass feel to it.... meaning that if you lean your arm against it or when you cut it you get the same feeling that you have been dealing with fiberglass insulation, not a big deal, that feeling goes away within a few hours.

Good product. Makes you itch like fiber glass. Over abundance of screws and washers provided. Sealant is very sticky and hard to work with.

Awesome product, light weight, easy to work with.Not enough sealant come with the product, at least 1 more tube needed.When starting tiling, seemed the mortar did not stick to the sealant areas very well.The price is a little ridiculous, but worth it in the time saved.

We are almost finished with our bathroom renovation and we did a ton of research on waterproofing options. This kit was fantastic for out alcove tub bathroom. The sheets were very light which made navigating in a small space much easier then cement board. We were on a tight time line so the one step instead of cement board then waterproofing and drying saved a ton of time. It was easy to tile right over.

The 5-star rating is for GoBoard. I give the KBRS Shower Seal that comes with this kit only 1 star.I have used GoBoard on 2 showers and 1 tub surround in our new home. GoBoard is light and easy to install. It is so much easier to work with than CBU (cement backer board units like Durock or Hardiebacker), and it is already waterproof. But, the KBRS Shower Seal that came with my kit makes sealing the GoBoard much harder. It is about the consistency of bubble gum, which is extremely hard to smooth out with a drywall taping knife, leaves a layer that is much thicker than optimal, and emits a foul odor. After using two tubes of KBRS Shower Seal, I threw the rest out. When I couldn't find the recommended GoBoard Sealant anywhere, I used Liquid Nails Fuze-It, which goes on thinner, does not have an offensive odor, and worked fine. For the last shower, I found GoBoard sealant online from another etailer. GoBoard Sealant goes on like warm butter, and has no noticeable odor. So, buy the GoBoard, but forget the KBRS Shower Seal; search high and low if necessary to get GoBoard Sealant. Or, if you can't find GoBoard sealant, use Liquid Nails Fuze-It instead of KBRS Shower Seal. You will be glad you did.
