Great little book for building vocabulary!
I just got this book two days ago and I have already been through the entire thing! I love the context sentences, although some are beyond my level, they are another wonderful way to expand vocabulary. I highlighted all of the words that I already know and will now concentrate on those that I don't. The only thing that would be helpful to me, would be to have the stressed vowels bolded. I don't care for the way the stress marks are notated in this book. Also, eliminate the cursive font in the introduction. Russian is hard enough to read without adding cursive! Otherwise, I highly recommend this book if you are studying the beautiful Russian language.

Practical Vocabulary Guide
This is a practical guide for learning/improving Russian vocabulary. I love that it starts with words you'll use/see more often and works up to the ones less frequently used. I have a guide to 800 commonly used words, and the first page includes words like 'adjustment', 'angle', and 'apparatus'. I'm sure these words are good to know, but they're not the most helpful for someone just starting in the language. This book has words like 'and', 'in', and 'he' on the first page. Rather more useful than my other guide. I also like that this book has sample sentences using the words. The sentences also seem to get more advanced throughout the book. Overall, this seems to be a helpful, practical guide.

Serves Its Intended Purpose
Although there are other books that will teach you more about Russian grammar, word gender, etc., this book does well at serving its intended purpose. As the name clearly states, it is a collection of the 2000 most commonly spoken words in the Russian language. As such, it is a good way to help build vocabulary and as a reference. It is not a good stand-alone text for learning the language, but it doesn't claim to be. Lingo Mastery sells other instructional books for learning Russian that complement this one, or you can use this as a supplement to whatever other language learning tools you have. Personally, I bought it as one part of an overall learning strategy and it met my expectations, based on the product description.

Learn more Vocab and grammar too!!
Like the other Lingo Mastery books for languages such as French, Spanish, German, Italian and Portuguese, 2000 most common words in Russian is a great addition to any program of language study whether one is taking a course, learning with a tutor or roughing it out in self-study. Because these words are presented and learned in the context of real (and useful in their own right!) sentences, you end up learning way more than the 2000 words in the title and also are exposed to and pick up Russian grammar through reading simple comprehensible input (a well researched and frequently recommended way to acquire languages). Highly recommend!!

I think it will be useful
I just bought this book on Kindle and I'm already so happy with it. I really believe that learning the 2,000 most common words is going to help me a lot. And I love the way the book is laid out. It has the example sentences for each word in Russian and in English, and the word itself is boldfaced in both sentences, so you can see the word order. The Kindle version was inexpensive too.

List of 2000 most frequent words
I purchased this so that I had a hard copy of the most frequent 2000 Russian words to make flash cards from. It suffices for that job. When I first got the book I was happy to see that it has example sentences to add clarity to the process. My issue is that the ideas amazing but the execution is poor. I can’t speak to the issue of poor direct translations mentioned in other reviews but it wouldn’t surprise me. Also many of these words have multiple meanings. ie. В can mean in, on, or at, however the book often only gives you one example sentence and you are left wondering how the word would be used in other ways. This is no small thing seeing that the word probably made the list because it is technically used often because it has multiple meanings. If you only learn one 3rd of its utility then it doesn’t really help your fluency as much as they say it will.
