Relearning to See: Improve Your Eyesight Naturally!

This book changed my life
Let me start out by saying that if you are looking for a quick fix, this is not the book for you. If you are however skeptical that something as crucial for survival as eyesight could be severely damaged in billions of people with no natural way for the body to heal itself, then you are in the right place. The most important thing I got from this book was knowing that it was possible to restore my sight, because of the great in depth articulation of an alternative theory on vision that runs contrary to conventional medical wisdom. Also the realization that health care is a big business. Theories and methods for restoring eyesight naturally (without having to spend a penny), would not only cost corporations billions of dollars, but put many doctors out of business. I'll cut straight to the chase in case you don't want to read this whole review. Within 2 years I greatly restored my eyesight (according to tests conducted by trained ophthalmologists). And after 4 years an eye doctor told me "You really don't need any glasses for daily life, your prescription is so small". The biggest things that worked for me are; learning not to ever strain to see things (if I can't see something either get closer, try to relax, or put on reduced prescription if seeing it is absolutely crucial), and wearing glasses that are weaker power than my prescription only when absolutely necessary. Also now that my vision is nearly perfect I wear reverse prescription glasses (my prescriptions have all been - numbers so I wear + number when working up close). This has the effect of simulating pushing, for example, my computer screen out to something like 10-15 feet away. Making reading just slightly blurry so that my eyes have to slightly adapt in order to see clearly. My story is probably similar to most. When I was in grade school my eyesight began to deteriorate over several years. Every year I would get my eyes examined, and every year the same, gasp my eyesight was worse. I needed to buy thicker glasses, and contacts. By the time I was 20 my eyesight was at -3.00 in each eye. Around that time I began to question a lot of things that I had been taught growing up. It didn't make any sense to me that something as crucial as eyesight could be lost so quickly, easily, and to so many people at such a young age with no hope of natural recovery. If this were to happen in hunter gather times we would not be here today. After some research on the internet I read a few interesting articles and came across this book. This book gives you to tools to slowly undo the years of damage that have been done, by bad vision habits, and corrective lenses (which usually make the problem worse). Not only that, but if you are a critical thinker, and interested in the logic and mechanisms by which this healing is possible this book is also for you. The beginning of the book goes in great detail covering the anatomy of the eye. It also explains what current ophthalmologists have been taught and articulates a compelling alternative theory on vision, its deterioration and possible restoration. I'll be completely honest and say I didn't really follow the exercises. I tried some a few times but I never managed to make them a daily habit. What I really got from this book was an explanation that it was possible to one day see clearly with my own eyes without having to undergo surgery, and learning not to strain my eyes. Just not straining and not wearing glasses produced a large amount of improvement over the first few years. Now with reverse prescription glasses I feel I can get the last tiny bit back to 20/20.

STICK WITH IT!
I read this book last year and then after reading that seeing a natural vision teacher was ideal (I am not sure if I read that online or in the book) I decided to give it a shot. The first session was an hour and 30 minutes and cost me 90 dollars, but the book had given me so much information that it was a complete waste of my time! Everything she told me "Relax your eyes" "Do palming" was stuff that I had already known, so my advice to you is to not use a natural vision teacher unless you can find someone really cheap who will allow you to stick with the program (unless you don't mind forking over quite a bit of cash). Otherwise, all you need is this book.Anyway, the main point of this review is that all you need is THIS book and perseverance. You don't need fancy instructors to tell you what to do unless you are feeling unsure that you are doing it correctly, but this book is extremely detailed in describing all the particulars of how the eye works and how to follow certain good eye habits to improve your eye's health. I say STICK WITH IT because I did not my first go around and I while I maintained some of the eye habits and improved my vision slightly, I did not maintain all of them and started to wear my glasses more frequently so all it had allowed me to do was maintain my current prescription (which was my fault and not the book's). But this summer I have actually been sticking with it (for 2+ weeks actually) and I have seen RADICAL improvement. While walking around everything will just become clear and now it no longer goes away when I blink, it stays as I relax my eyes more and more and it moved me so much that I actually began to tear up (I am an emotional person, so sue me ;)) but anyway after I clear my vision up to 20/20, which hopefully will happen in a year or less...I will be offering free information classes to those who want to improve their eyesight and dedicate much of my time to allowing others to hear this wonderful information. It is such a SHAME that more people do not know about it!!!DO NOT GIVE UP ON THIS PROGRAM, that is the key to your success. You will do it continually over and over again without results and just one day when your chronically stressed eyes begin to relax you will see just how powerful this method is when you can see the world clearly without corrective lenses.Thank you for providing us all with an affordable way to correct our eyesight! I have tried it for years and this is the only thing that has worked for me. It takes a little while to get it going, but once you see the progress you will be motivated to continue.I will review this book again when I reach 20/20 vision...I am already seeing people's faces more clearly as well at lettering/license plates etc, but I have not gotten my vision checked, which I probably will not do for a while... My best vision comes when I am outside playing sports, riding a bicycle, or just looking out the window of my car (while I am not driving of course!) so make sure you couple this program with a more active lifestyle. Your eyes will thank you :)If only I could get some of my friends to pick up this book!

This was a useful and informative book
This was a useful and informative book, but a little heavy. I'd recommend it if you want to know the science of sight, but there are better options if you just want to know what exercises to do to improve your sight. I'd say buy it if you really want to understand and it does a good job of that, but it reads more like a textbook than a how-to manual.

THE SOLUTION
After reading dozens of books on how to improve my eyesight and trying several techniques, I nearly wasn't able to believe that in the end and after years of Research I found the solution.I always knew that there must be a reasonable cause why some people are shortsighted and some not, but I was astonished that the reason is such an easy and obviuos one. This book simply tells you how to use the Bates-Technique. And the Bates-Technique is the one and only. FORGET everything else!Honestly I have to admit, that I've read Bates' book a long time before I read this one and I thought that it's just another worthless one.But the problem was that I simply wasn't able to understand it and I think many people have the same problem. But this book explains you in an easy way everybody understands how seeing works. And you can start to use this techniques and habits now and use them every hour you are awake. You don't have to do eye-exercises, everyday, which everybody who has tried them once, knows that you get some sort of results, but they are just too less on the contrary to the time you spend doing them.If you want to see distinct and clear again, like you did when you where a child, this is the only book you have to read. But don't betray yourself, you REALLY have to understand it and you REALLY have to start doing this habits from the time on you know them! But be aware: you must be willing to change habits you are possibly doing now for more of the half of your life and this can be tough, but if you put some effort in it you will get back one of the greatest gifts you had once. And I know everybody wants to hear about results: I've read the book in April 2017 with 2,75 Diopters shortsightedness and today in May 2018 I'm on 1,25 diopters. It takes time, but it definately works. It appears to me that the eyesight even recreates faster, than it got worse.I'm so grateful for this book, because it gave me back what I was looking for, for such a long time.Thank you Thomas R. Quackenbush!

Yes!~ You too can see more clearly.
It's and excellent in depth investigation into the art of seeing and how to correct your vision habits. The techniques work for me. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is serious about acquiring better vision.

Best Eyesight Improvement book that I've read.
I've read a few books on NEI (Natural Eyesight Improvement).Amongst them, Take off your glasses and see by Jacob Liberman Better Eyesight without Glasses by W.H.Bates (1943 version after W.Bates' death) , The Art of Seeing by Aldous Huxley amongst them. All of these were quite good books, and I quite liked Jacob Liberman's one. However none of them are as good at explaining the process of Natural Eyesight as Relearning to See by Thomas Quackenbush.A lot of Relearning to See (RTS abbrieviation from now on ) is requoting W.H.Bates work, but RTS explains it better in modern terms than W.H.Bates himself managed. I was a bit confused by some of the terms in Bates' Better Eyesight without glasses. RTS cleared these issues up.RTS also integrates other sources of information on NEI. It's also quite a colourful book, with lot's of diagrams, something most of the other books miss out on. After all there's much more to seeing than just reading alone. To summarise RTS is the best book I've read on NEI, so if you want to buy just one book then get this one. If after that you still feel like reading somemore try Jacob Liberman's "Take off your Glasses and See".Don't suffer glasses or contact lenses for 1 second longer than you have to, and NEVER even consider laser butchery , I mean surgery. (Just search the web for complications Associated with laser surgery ) This stuff works. Most opticians over prescribe strong lenses for visual defects that can and are cured with the visual habit's that are described in RTS and other NEI books. Your average optician will not believe this possible is (I've tried talking to a few of them) because medical school has got to them, and also they earn a large amount of their income by encouraging dependence on prescription lenses. So , can you really trust someone who makes their living selling lenses to tell you that you could live without them ? ( or at least be less dependent on them) Buy this book (and read it!) and you'll SEE what W.H.Bates, Thomas Quackenbush and others would like you to know.
