Harry Potter Film Wizardry (Revised and Expanded)

This has to be the coolest book. It is packed full of paper extras. My favorites were the Yule Ball program and Marauder's Map. It is full of movie insights and facts, and is very colorful. I am so glad I purchased the book thanks to a recommendation. I was wanting to buy the Marauder's Map from The Noble Collection, but was re-directed to this book, (there were multiple comments about it) because it was included with the paper extras. And it is definitely what I was looking for, and won't take up much room. It's really a masterpiece!

Fantastic! This movie is an overview of the filming of Harry Potter and I loved it! It's colorful and beautiful, really magical. Every page is immersed in the design and world of HP. The book features most of the characters, creatures, sets, etc. and goes through the movies chronologically.I especially loved the Marauders Map, Hogwarts acceptance letter, Yule Ball program, etc. These added an awesome touch of the real thing.In case you're wondering, there is some overlap with Page to Screen (see my review here: https://www.amazon.com/review/R17H4CSCK0549/ref=cm_cr_srp_d_rdp_perm?ie=UTF8) but this book is much more visual. It's more exciting and fun. Worth getting both.

I saw one commenter mention that it wasn't a great guide for film-makers, and that is true. It doesn't give a ton of detail on each thing, but if you want it just because you like Harry Potter, then it is perfect. It provides sketches of scenes and costumes, photos, cast and crew interviews, etc. It's similar to stuff that you might find on a bonus DVD, but in paper form. (it's got a lot of extra's tucked into it, like stickers and photo books. It's not all on the pages.)Is it an in-depth look at the film that focuses on details of every aspect? No, not at all. It's made for kids to be able to enjoy and learn from. If you want to study the film, you'll have to look elsewhere (although it might be a decent jumping-off point.) But as just a fun glimpse into the world, it's great.

I own both Harry Potter Film Wizardry and Harry Potter Film Wizardry (Revised and Expanded) and they are almost identical.The only differences are:1)The 1/3-page paper belt which wrap the book cover2)In the 2010 version, the last 2 pages are "sneak peak" of the final movie. These 2 pages are gone in the 2012 version and the photos from these 2 pages are nowhere to be found in the Revised and Expanded version. In the Revised and Expanded version, we get 6 pages of new materials from the final movie: the return to Gringotts, the Battle of Hogwarts, the Deathly Hallows, and the Tales of Three Brothers.3)An additional material: a pocket/envelope, which contains a booklet Film Photo Diary, embedded on the inner side of the back cover. Nothing spectacular about this additional material: just a few photos from each of the movies (and only 1 page is dedicated to each movie).For those who missed out on the 2010 version, go ahead and purchase this. It is as good as the 2010 version.For those who already own the 2010 version, you may want to think twice before purchasing this.

This book is really great. The detail of the props and the sets that Stuart Craig and all the crew that they worked on are amazing. I was especially loved the yule ball invitation, such detail that went into it. The potions book the proclamation signs, and Weasleys Wizard Wheezes catalogue are just unbelievable. I could go on and on about the other props but won't. The pictures of the wonderful out of this world sets Stuart Craig & staff created are beautiful. I could write a book about this book cause it's so great.As a Harry Potter collector this book is one of the best.

After seeing the revised edition at a bookstore, I found it online much cheaper. However, in my haste ordering it, I managed buying the first version. Instead of returning the first one, I gave it to my little sister who was very happy. Finally got it right by ordering the revised edition which my older sister got for Christmas. The book is fantastic with extra goodies inside. Harry Potter fans should not pass this up.

I bought this book as a gift for my sister-in-law. She loved it and said it met all of her expectations. It's a good choice for any Harry Potter lover.

I purchased a new copy. I would just make sure to anyone thinking of buying a used copy to ask what inserts or pullouts are missing. This happened to me with its companion book Fantastic Beasts. Overall the pullouts and book are awesome (when present) these pullouts and maps make the book but Ian the listings it neglects to outline what exactly is missing which is unacceptable. FYI this is the second of three versions published. I was ok with that as I liked the look over the newer 2018 one to match my collection. The difference between all three are: version 1. blue ring around cover character photos and dumbledore is beside harry not Ron. Version 2. 2012 there is a golden ring around cover character photos updated inserts and text added. Verson 3. 2018 film cover same text content as version with addition of two new inserts - Hogwarts Blueprint Map and a News clipping.

Książka jest absolutnym must have dla każdego fana. Jest w niej zawartych mnóstwo ilustracji i ciekawostek związanych z planem filmowym, do tego sporo elementów typu pop-up. Niestety zdjęcie jest mylące- książka posiada kilka wydań różniacych się zakresem. Sprzedawane jest inne niż to na mimiaturce. Mimo zgloszenia tego faktu obsłudze- błąd nadal jest na stronie.
