Cariboo Classic Bassinet, Espresso

My son slept in this bassinet until 4 month (until he moved into his own room.)Pros --Light-weight, yet sturdy. This bassinet appealed to us b/c of the sturdy-looking design. It needed to withstand the strong tail of our black lab, which it did perfectly. it also moved easily across our hardwood floors.Cons --i was not satisfied with the "mattress" that came with it. Too flimsy - and the sheet was ill-fitting. Went to Babies r Us and procured a bassinet mattress ($30). It fit perfectly and worked much better.

We've used this bassinet with two children, and I am so sad to have to pack it away now that my youngest is too big for it! It's beautiful, and works well. Unlike another reviewer here, I found it perfectly steady, strong, the wood hasn't scratched up at all (and we have a cat!), it neither scratches my wood floors nor slides across them. I've washed and put the sheet and all the other fabrics through the dryer (on high, no less) many times and they're all good as new. The bed moves just a little if you push against it, which is soothing to a restless baby.We have the veil and arm as well, which I love, and the bassinet changer that you can hang over the bed. I didn't end up using the latter as I hated having to hook it on and off and preferred using our regular changing table.

It might even be toppled easily with baby inside by a sleepy parent at 4 am or a young brother or sister determined to do away with his or her competition.Next, the wood is easily scratched and the screws are very cheap. The Allen wrench provided did not sit fully into some of them, making them easily strippable.Third, the wool mattress does not quite fit into the bag. The mattress is a bit too big.Fourth, the board is so cheap they have to print "do not discard" on it, because it appears to be packing material. For this, we went through hoops upon hoops to make sure we got the formaldehyde-free version? It might was well be cardboard.Fifth, the mattress does not accept US sheets and mattress pads. How on earth can you sell this in the US if US sheets and mattress pads don't fit?!Sixth, the sheet provided cannot be put in the dryer. Very practical for a baby sheet! Who has time to line dry sheets for a baby? Or is it part of a grand scheme to get people to buy more sheets to have on hand?All in all, this is a VASTLY overpriced item that is clearly not worth what we paid for it.

I don't have room in my bedroom for a crib and looked at all the bassinets I could find and they seemed like junk that actually would fall apart. This crib has a natural wool pad which fits the bassinet perfectly and the wood is beautiful and so far has not scratched at all. Because I had done the research and went to magic beans store to see the bassinet first, I knew what it would look like and that it was the bassinet for my family. I am not sure about it sliding across the floor as I also have hardwood floors and it has not moved unless pushed with a good bit of weight. In addition it is the most stable bassinet that I seen, it does not shake or wobble. The sheet can not be washed but I think it is because it is not preshrunk which is slightly disappointing but I really wanted a natural organic experience for the first few months of my babies life. In addition you get the 100% cotton sheet which is super soft. I would recommend that you go to a store to see if you like before you purchase this item as this item is a bit pricey for a bassinet. In addition having done the research beforehand I knew that you had to buy specialized sheets but that seems to be standard for bassinets.

I used this bassinet for 6 months and I was extremely happy with it. I didn't like all the other cheap, frilly bassinets and I decided on this one mainly because of the design and how it matched my wooden bedroom furniture. There is really nothing like solid wood. It was beautiful and sturdy, and I had no complaints after 6 months of use. I intend to use it for my future children too.

I absolutely LOVE this bassinet! I have it and it's very nice quality! It's sturdy, easy to assembly and clean too! The fabric is soft and sturdy. I would recommend this to ANYONE!
