Another 5 star review!
I used to watch this as a kid and I remembered it as being very good.Well, I was afraid it might not, but it does hold up over time.Season 1 isn't as good, I watched a few of those and I was disappointed. But I figured maybe the 2nd season was better, and it turns out I was right. The stories are much better in this 2nd season, and now I am looking forward to the 3rd and 4th seasons, as well!Oh, and I didn't see this mentioned anywhere - no one seems to be making a big deal about it - but this season 2 set contains a 2 part episode at the end, on the last disc, which shows how Dan'l met Mingo and his wife. It must have been the series pilot or something, I'm not sure. Maybe it says somewhere but all I know is that it seemed weird that they put it at the end of Season 2 when it seems like it should have been at the beginning of Season 1 - except that it's in color. Is it possible they did go back and create this at the end of Season 2? kind of a flashback??Anyway, this 2-parter's quite good (though it partially steals the plot of an old Western with Jimmy Stewart), and was a nice extra at the end of the set.

Mixed reviews from kids but I loved it!
Yes, I'm old so I remember watching Daniel Boone as a kid but my children and grandchildren certainly hadn't. I gave this 2nd season to my grandkids for Christmas this year. We all watched the first two shows off the first disc together. My 12 year old (boy) just laughed at the antics and thought it was hokey. My 4 (girl), 9 (girl) and 10 (boy) year old LOVED them. So when we took a road trip to FL after Christmas, the kids brought along this set of tapes. The 9 and 10 year old watched (on dvd player) most of the shows during the ride there and back (from OH). The 4 year old and 9 year old now sing Daniel Boone's theme song daily. The kids have really enjoyed watching these shows. I don't find it hokey (different from what's on tv now) but this is a clean show and that's what I was wanting. I'll buy more seasons, too (from Amazon). fyi: the 12 year old has watched all of them, too -- he has been won over!

Phil's Review Daniel Boone Season 2
My wife bought Daniel Boone Season 1 a year or two ago as a gift and forgot about it. She poppped it out at Christmas time and I remembered watching DB as a teen. Well I forgot how well this series was made. I liked season 1 so much I ordered season 2&3 about half way through season 1. I have just finished season 2 and started season 3. The series has evolved for the better. Even though I have half a MBA, I learned some things from American Colonial History I hadn't known about. I find these stories great. They always have a moral foundation and demonstrate family values with action and some humor. Fess Parker I grew up with as a little boy with his Davy Crockett Dismey series in the movies. Yes, I got the (man made materials)coonskin cap and enjoyed sining the Title song. Daniel Boone actualy was related to Davy Crockett as a great uncle I believe. If you like wilderness America like I do with the likes of Last of the Mohicans ala Randolph Scott, or Hawkeye from the late 50's TV show, you will love Fess Parker as Daniel Boone and Ed Ames as Mingo. Factoid: TV's Richard Boone(Have Gun will Travel) is a direct descendant of Daniel Boone. Hope this helps enjoy:)Phil

Great set old wonderful Show Boy do I miss Good TV like this
I'm so bored with todays reality TV world and I may be old fashioned but I long for shows with some kind of history story anything with substance. I have not seen Daniel Boone since a kid but remember I loved it and started with season two and I will soon own the whole five seasons. the only minor complaint I have is I wish the episodes would just keep running into each other. i work third shift and do fall asleep with them going and the choosing each episode every 45 minutes gets old just let them flow. But overall the quality and packaging and information is wonderful and this and Band of Brothers are my two best box sets. Wish there was more TV and movies from this early 1800's timeframe but we have computer generated super heros and dumb remakes and and survivor that are all stupid enough to power todays viewer ratings. Thank god the good stuff is being remastered and boxed together for some kind of sanity break

I love this collection!
I recently ordered "Daniel Boone Season 2" I read all the reviews and I still didn't know if I would like it verymuch, after all I barely remembered the show. When It came, I put a disc in to see how I liked it.WOW! It's so good! I don't find anything of it's quality on tv today. The stories are great! The picture quality is excellent! The color is vivid! The acters can really ACT! They really knew how to make good television shows back then! I recommend this series to anyone tired of what passes for entertainment on TV today. If you get this set, You will be pleasently surprized! When I can afford it I will be adding more of this series to my collection.

What a Great show!!
Just got Season 2 from Amazon and it looks great! Since my family had a B&W TV when I was growing up--until my older sister bought us a color TV with her own money--this is actually my first time seeing "Daniel Boone" in color. It doesn't look much like Kentucky, but whatever part of California they filmed it in sure is pretty. As with season 1, the acting is still good. Kind of miss Yadkin, but everyone else is back. My sons (ages 12 & 10) love this show as much as I do, proving that you don't have to be crass to attract the modern kids--just tell good stories. One last thing, were Jemina's eyes really that blue or is that a trick of the restoration?

A must for everyone
I have bought already from America every one of the 6 Seasons of the Daniel Boone TV Series, and quite frankly this TV Series is a must for anyone whom likes to watch a very good Adventure Series. The attention to the digital enhanchment of the Colour to this Series has to be seen to be believed, for with its very clear definition you would be forgiven for thinking that this TV Series has just been made.So while Season One "Only" is in the old Black & White format, the other Seasons are enriched with Colour.Fess Parker plays Daniel Boone much in the same way as he previously Portrayed Walt Disney's Davie Crockett, along with a Bear-Skin hat and coat to match, and once again you would be forgiven for thinking that this TV Series was an extention of the Davie Crockett Series. However, all in all Daniel Boone is a Family TV Series that is very Entertaining, and more than worth every penny of its cost. 5 Stars all around.

Das Aufleben der Kindheit...
Meine Schwester hat die Serie als Kind geliebt und war begeistert, als sie erfuhr, dass es die DVDs mittlerweile gibt. Preis egal, DVD muss her! Gesagt, getan.
