I absolutely love the book. I have already cooked about 10 recipes out of it. Not all were favorites so far, but most are really good. Great Variety, Lots of Unexpected Ideas
At first glance, this cookbook seems like a bad crockpot joke. Almost every recipe I flipped to requires cream of mushroom soup or a packet of dried onion soup. Seriously. Two of the five recipes for Sloppy Joes call for cream of mushroom soup. Then it dawned on me. Two of FIVE recipes for Sloppy Joes. I started looking more closely and realized that most recipes in the book offer several different versions. Sometimes it's the ingredients that vary, sometimes it's the amount of preparation, sometimes it's both. You're bound to find at least one version of each recipe that works for your tastes and cooking style. You may find other versions that you're willing to try. The recipes are arranged by type, and a small icon at the top corner of each page makes it easy to flip through the book and find the chapter you're looking for. There are also clear icons to indicate if a recipe is considered light, or if it's meatless. The book is in the style of a hometown fundraiser cookbook. Each recipe includes the name and town of the person who submitted it, and some include a brief comment from the cook about how you might want to serve it, or to whom. The author also scatters random little kitchen tips throughout the book. The recipes are well organized, with cooking times and recommended crockpot sizes clearly indicated at the top. Any recipe marked "light" includes nutrition information at the end. I'm giving this four stars instead of five because: (1) I don't love the binding. It's a large cloth-bound volume (think big dictionary) that is awkward to use in the kitchen. (2) The organization is a little loose. For instance, all hot dog recipes are listed in the pork section, even those calling for all-beef franks. (3) The definition of "light" isn't really fair. The nutrition analysis assumes you use the smaller amounts in any range and leave off anything listed as optional. This seems reasonable, until you notice that the light recipe for chicken and dumplings indicates that the dumplings are optional. I plan to try many of the recipes, and to use this cookbook for inspiration for my own creations. The sheer variety of options for each recipe makes me want to experiment with ingredients and combinations I may not have come up with on my own.

Huge cookbook :)
This is an awesome slow cooker cookbook! It has to be the best one I have and soon to be the only slow cooker cookbook I'll own. There is such and assortment of recipes!! There is sure to be one to match your mood, the weather, crock pot size, ingredients available, occasion, hair color you name it, haha. I was so surprised by how many recipes this has. Sure it has processed ingredients but there plenty with just plain ol' stuff in your pantry too. The book is huge but for its size I'm so happy it lays flat when opened! Nothing more inconvenient than using a can of green beans as a page weight while trying to hold your cookbook open. There aren't a lot of pictures but what there is is plenty for me. Sure I like pictures(nice to know what my dish is supposed to look like) but I can do just fine without. The little drawings throughout are cute and add a cozy touch to this book. (There's a piggie in the upper corner for the pork recipes, a loaf of bread for the bread recipes, a cow for the beef recipes and so on.) Nothing fancy but cute. There are notes and tips for some recipes as well as variations. There are recipes that are noted as being "light" or "meatless" too. I've made a few dishes already with great results. If one doesn't turn out how I like there is plenty more to choose from :) I think its very well organized and so happy I finally bought this book. The only tiny issue for me is I wish there were a couple pages at the end of the book for "NOTES" so that I could write down my favorite recipes. The pages are nice and thick if you do decide to make notes next to recipes, so that's a plus. Some of my cookbooks have blank pages in the back and I've come to appreciate being able to jot down my favorite for a quick reference. Especially considering the size of the book it'd be helpful. But all us well, I still love the book๐

Great Recipes and donโt be afraid to tailor it for your taste
This book has so many wonderful recipes for crockpot meals. I love to cook for my family but they have some dietary issues so itโs nice to get an idea of what I can cook and tailored it for them. You can definitely tell the recipes are from all over the country. Thank you to the author and the many people that shared their recipes.

Making homemade at home.
This hard cover recipe book is very large, packed with all kinds of ideas. The index in the back makes so easy to find exactly what you are looking for. The instructions are easy to understand and offer variations for new twists on old favorites. Love it so far.

Bloated before eating
This book claims to have 1400 recipes, but really it's a couple hundred recipes done multiple ways. I noticed this right off the bat in the appetizers section when there are dozens of quesos with slight variations on the recipes (this one has beans, this one has meat, this one uses cheddar instead of velveeta). At a few points the author didn't even try to hide that these recipes were very similar since they put "broccoli cheese dip" next to "cheese and broccoli dip". The recipes seem like they could be good, but this book feels very bloated.

Don't buy "fix it and forget it"
I would not waste your money buying this book. A lot of the recipes use canned soups that are filled with additives! Maddening to pay good money for a terrible cookbook. The creator of the recipient use be really lazy and not very creative!
