It could be more challenging
Once you've been through college, even as a science major (as opposed to a humanities major where you use more complex words more often) you should be smart enough to know a lot of words. That being said, I feel that about half the words in this are just filler. I suppose it's good to review them but I went through the same words in high school when I was studying for the SAT/ACT. So unless you partied through college and just paid the nerd in your class to write your essays, you should still remember these words.Approximately another third of this, is words that I think a college kid knows but are good to review since you've probably never heard the official definition to. That leaves you with maybe fifty or sixty words that are going to even remotely be a challenge. And only ten of these words (max) will be absolutely new to you. Out of 500 words though? This could (and should) be more challenging. The method behind this is great but it's a good thing that you can just pick out which words you actually want to study because a lot of this is just filler. I like that I can just listen to this on my iPod on the way to work so that at least that time in the car isn't wasted. However, I will probably still pick up a dictionary or something else to study for the GRE verbal section. This alone does not feel like enough of a challenge.

Great for studying while driving!
While this item is labeled as a pod class, it is really a collection of MP3 files. I opened it easily in my Zune software without having to download itunes. As previous reviewers have stated, some of the words and definitions are easier than one would expect from a GRE prep source. However, there are plenty of useful definitions to make this a worthwhile buy. I listen to them on my way to and from work each day. One downside is that the male voice is softer and harder to understand than the female voice. I initially had some trouble finding a volume that worked well for both voices, but I am still very happy with this purchase.

Good studying on the go
I was able to download the mp3s onto my zune. That allowed me to listen to the definitions while driving to and from work. The words can be sorted in different ways, I listened to them on random, sorted by level of difficulty. I found I knew most of the easy level, so I concentrated on the moderate and hard levels, over and over. The word is read, then the definition, the word is repeated, then used in a sentence. I would recommend this product, great for efficient studying in a busy schedule.

I bought it
You do not need an IPOD. The disk is full of the MP3's. You can download them and burn them into Wav files to make CD's. I feel like the descriptopn on Amazon was a little misleading. Good CD though, I feel like the sentences could be funnier. Overall, good, it does everything promised.

GRE - ON IPOD
I like this product because you can listen to the words as you go. The words are from HS or first year college, but it is a reminder of words you may not use everyday.

Pretty Cool!
I was a little hesitant in purchasing this item as there were only 2 reviews. I thought it was an interesting concept and thought I'd give it a try. I'm glad I did! This is a neat way of learning the words. It is for audio AND visual learners! I love that I can hear the words in sentences. I think this will really help with the GRE!

I highly recommend getting a podcast or audio recording such as this ...
Used this to get a MUCH higher score on the GRE. I listened to the podcasts on my commute, and improved my GRE scores into the 90th+ percentile in the verbal section. I highly recommend getting a podcast or audio recording such as this one to aid your study.

Great for on-the-go review
This cd is great for review while you are on-the-go. I listened to it in the car and on my iPod in between classes. I also recommend a GRE vocabulary workbook to go with it. I was able to improve my vocabulary score by 100 points (on the old scale) and 9 points on the new scale.
