The Manga Guide to Molecular Biology (The Manga Guides)

I bought this off a YouTuber's recommendation and it's a decent base of knowledge. Great for anyone starting off in biology past high school level classes. Gave it to my kid, think he might enjoy it given his predisposition for anime and manga.

Molecular guide for Dummies. Makes a very difficult topic a little manageable. I found myself going back over the same pages several times. Required memorization of definitions to keep things straight. I pick it up when I want to be humbled..

Behind the cartoons is a good entry point to a complex field. If you are curious, start here even if you’re a lot older than its target audience.

I bought this for my granddaughter, but I was so interested that I read it too. Not being a biologist, it was all new to me. I think the author has done a very good job at explaining some of the concepts of molecular biology. I have given it to my granddaugher now, and hope that she will read it.

I am a Biologist and a high school teacher. In any of these two worlds, this is an amazing book. Highly recomended to remember the facts and to better explain them. I also recomend it to anyone who need to prepare an exam on molecular biology.

Interesting and fun, much more palatable than a regular traditional textbook. Starts off easy and segues into much more advanced material than I expected but still a great read.

The Manga Guide to Molecular Biology is basically designed to get your feet wet with Biology, by pulling you in with a slightly amusing manga. The problem is that it's Biology. Every single chapter, nay, every couple of pages you are bombarded with dozens of new terms. The manga part basically breaks down every so often, where they are forced to give up drawing the panels, and begin lecturing you in Biology. As far as the product goes, it's alright. They have some pretty good analogies to help understand some of the topics, and the Manga part makes studying Biology a little bit more appealing. Unfortunately, as Biology is a complicated subject, you only learn some of the real basics, and the manga half is kind of crummy. You'll need at least another biology book (or two) to supplement this.Perhaps buy this if someone you know needs some motivation to start studying Biology. Or you're bored.

This book was a requested birthday item for my grandson. He has enjoyed other Magna books, and had several on his birthday list.

Good book for both molecular biology beginners and people who are into manga. It has good plot, education value and comedy.

The book shows the molecular biology at an entry level and the cartoons add to the learning experience however for strict manga readers it does not start at the back of the book the use of text and graphics allows the message to go through in a number of ways allowing the reader to process more and gain knowledge which tends to have more traction.
