ATC Teak Round Table Top, 60" D

So, This is my 2nd Amazon table top in a week. The first one arrived wrecked.So I bit the bullet, doubled the cost, and ordered this one.The table top itself is nice! It's multi-colored teak, a few more oxidized slats, some light, and some dark. I like it. The finish is smooth ready to use. Construction is reasonable and the joints are what I expected.So why 3 stars, when I would normally given 5?It's the Packaging!!! Amazon and American Trading.1. Zero Padding! None. Nada. Stupid. If this item had just been made an inch larger in all three dimensions via Styrofoam pads on all sides and the cardboard box outside of that, there would have been no issues.2. The box was mauled before the vendor ever shipped it to me! it was no longer a "square" shaped box. The box obviously had been damaged previously, folded, taped, taped some more, and taped some more. Some of the edges had no cardboard at all, torn away and taped over, leaving the wood to scrape against whatever the shipper struck it against -- and again, that was BEFORE they shipped it out!3. As a result, only after I assembled it to my table did I discover that one of the circumferential pieces has a split where the tongues of the slats poke into it.That lets the piece droop a little. I hope I can fix it well enough with glue -- I have no choice now due to our needing to use it. Otherwise I would have returned this one too!It's a $200 piece of furniture. Is a $0.35 box the best you can do????Sigh.

Purchased 2 and both arrived in great shipping package. Very well made and sturdy. I'd give it 5 stars if the color of the wood wasn't so varied. But if you don't mind that you'll love it. It will eventually turn gray anyway. Turned an expensive tri level wrought iron plant stand into a side table. Perfect for my needs. Upon further inspection in daylight (refer to 2nd image) I did find 3 of the slats had minor chips on them where they were cut to size. Probably a weak point in the wood causing minor splint or dull saw blade. VERY minor and only a perfectionist would even notice. I don't think it will impact on ability to stand up to normal wear and tear. The 2nd image also shows the variation in color of the wood. High end teak furniture maker would have all wood matching (even unfinished as these are).

I purchased this top to replace an aging top on an outdoor table. The base was in great shape so I didn't want to purchase a whole new table. The woodworking on this table isn't very good. The cuts made for the slats that form the surface are not consistent or clean. Extremely noticeable when I took it out of the box. Looks like someone hand chiseled the area for the slats and did a poor job. The box it's packed in offers little protection and there were some dents in the edge of the tabletop. I'm not using this for anything special, just an extra outdoor table, so I decided to keep it rather than dealing with shipping it back. Some teak oil helped hide the defects. If this will be for a centerpiece outdoor table, I'd look elsewhere.

For the price its not bad other similar table tops were $50 - $200+. Issues with the table top included warped slats and a few wood filler spots. I fixed 3 of the 5 warped slats by inserting spacers between them. There were also quite a few rough spots and splintering edges that needed a light sanding. All in all for the price and what I had to do with it I would purchase again. It looks nice on our Bistro Table I just had powder coated a blackened copper.

Arrived like most say, box beat up from no inside padding. Table was fine. Small ding on top edge, not enough for me to return over. Smoothly sanded. Call it A quality vs A+ (flawless, smooth as a granite counter) you would find (and pay much more for) in the patio shops. Screwed it onto an iron cafe table mount I found at an architectural reclaim place.

Beautiful piece and great price but there were some minor flaws in the construction. I sealed ours with teak oil and it looks like the picture now. When it arrives it looks more like raw oak or pine lumber. It's holding up great outside!

Love the table top. However, I did not count on having an extremely difficult time finding a base. Want bar height. Top is 24 x 48. Will sit on a concrete floor. Has to be stable. Thought the table top company would have suggestions, they do not. Have checked with companies that make tables, bases, legs, etc. Have gotten useful information but didn't care for their products. Table top currently is sitting on saw horses. Wish American Trading Company would have also carried bases.

It's a nice, well made product. Take heed of it's dimensions, its on the small side, but perfect for the purpose. Note that it doesn't come with legs, and I strongly recommend one of those pedestal-type stands, which you can find on Amazon. Buying four legs for this table is overkill.
