Several great songs but overall disappointing
I love Nickelback, I think their albums are great and usually heavy and thumpy good old hard rock, and their live shows are fantastic with Chad leading the charge like the great front man he is. This album however has me stumped. They've tried something new and experimental but I don't think now was the time to do it, they need to swing the haters camp over to neutral or lovers camp by doing a fantastic balls out hard rock album all the way through which they are more than capable of especially when you go back to their previous tracks scattered over the other albums, especially as now they're away from Roadrunner and their poor single release choice using Nickelback as their commercial cash cow. They already have my loyalty but for me this was disappointing and filled with too many crap ballads that are just nothing music and not enough fun rocky stuff.Things start off well with MILLION MILES AN HOUR smashing it's way through your speakers followed straight up by lead single EDGE OF A REVOLUTION which has grown massively on me due to Kerrang's radio play. It then goes titts up with possibly the worst song they've ever done WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, so I'll skip this one. The experimentation then continues with SHE KEEPS ME UP but this one works, a really funky catchy tune that gets you singing straight away almost. MAKE ME BELIEVE AGAIN is another ballad but is quite good - you have to remember they didn't have a single ballad until several albums in and the first bunch like Far Away and Save Me were good, but cause they've done so many you automatically say 'not another one' as soon as it starts. Give it a chance though as it's a good one. SATELLITE is next and is s*** so we'll move on to GET EM UP. Awesome catchy funny song about doing a bank robbery that goes wonky, won't say why as it's a line towards the end that gives it away and always makes me laugh - one of my favourites so far. This is followed up swiftly by THE HAMMER'S COMING DOWN which is another good mid tempo(ish) in their new style, I imagine this will become a fan favourite. MISS YOU is an ok ballad but after the amount they've done now It could have done without being on the album but I'll let them off because GOT ME RUNNING ROUND featuring Flo Rida works surprisingly well. It's another catchy experiment but is quite good and I even like Flo Rida's part which fits in well with what they've done. The album then finishes disappointingly with SISTER SIN which is yet another crap ballad so I won't talk about it. The album then ends leaving you thinking what the hell happened when it should have finished with a bang as it opened with, or at the very least one of their witty funny tracks. If your a fan already you'll probably like this but if not then I don't think this is the album to turn you. Chart lovers will probably also like it thinking they're getting 'rocky' by being into Nickelback like some people I know, but overall I was disappointed with this album. Don't get me wrong, there are several great tracks but even they aren't up there with their best for me but are a welcome addition to the next Best Of CD I make for the car. To give you a clue of the kind of heavier songs I like by the band which I think are genuinely awesome, check out BECAUSE OF YOU, JUST TO GET HIGH and SOMETHING IN YOUR MOUTH.The tour to go with the album will no doubt still be awesome, especially if they lob in a Metallica song or ACDC song because they do REALLY well but if you want a great Nickelback album go for ALL THE RIGHT REASONS or DARK HORSE.

A great album by a controversial band
Yeah, yeah, I know, "Nickelback suck" or whatever. I admit, some of their songs are absolute bile; some songs are so light and fluffy, they make me want to puke. That said, the rest of their songs are either super tight, catchy pop-rock songs or genuinely kickass heavy metal. There's no denying that Chad Kroeger knows how to write a song, and that's why they're one of the best-selling music groups of the last 20 years. I've loved Nickelback since I first heard Silver Side Up (the one with 'How You Remind Me') as an 11-year-old, and they've given me no real reason to stop yet. No Fixed Address is another solid effort from the lads, building on their previous releases and experimenting for the first time in a while with elements of funk and hip-hop. Don't hate, it's not exactly number one!

Sad bad times roll
Truly dreadful & a HUGE huge disappointment. Now to put this review into perspective I have been a loyal Nickelback fan since Silver Side Up and have seen them live on many occasions and it pains me to write this as a consequence. As for this? Chad? Guys? what were you thinking. I've read some of the other reviews and whilst I agree that the first two tracks are 'OK' it still has no redeeming features whatsoever and the less said about Flo Rida the better.I have to admit that I did derive some satisfaction as I looked in my rear view mirror and saw my CD bouncing into the hard shoulder having been lobbed out of the window but that's the only good thing I can say. Nickelback please don't listen to the haters and get back to putting some soul and genuine feeling into your rock songs again. I couldn't help but feel that Here & Now and Greatest Hits (Volume 1?!!) were paying for Chad's divorce settlement but I have no idea what the motivation for this travesty was? It's rushed, instantly forgettable (at least after counselling) but mercifully short. If you're still considering buying this then please, seriously now, think again, buy a copy of Silver Side Up and remember the good times. If any of these songs get played on this year's tour I'll be asking for a refund!

One of Their Better Albums
Item arrived early and undamaged, cd played without issue, I have an soft spot for Nickleback, and this is one of their better albums, it has a number of potential classics on it! Recommended!

I also like Marmite.
For me, all the tracks were middle of the road except for 2.Robbery. Not a nice subject matter but a great beat and (I thought) funny lyrics.Million miles an hour. Again, questionable subject, but the power and energy in the music .... reminds me of Gloria by U2.

What Were They Thinking?
No seriously what were they thinking? I get them trying to change because lets face, a lot of people genueinly hate Nickelback with a passion. But I've loved them every album has been good, until this one. This is a Pop Album as opposed to their usually Alt/Hard Rock this is a huge let down of an album. Edge Of A Revolution and Million Miles An Hour are easily the best songs on the album, literally by a mile. Skip buying the album and just buy those songs and you'll have saved yourself from purchasing a terrible album.

Not their fines hour
I loved the first track and though it was going to be a damn good album, BUT it went downhill fast from there on wards. So much so i hardly recognised Nickleback at all by the end. Dont know what they were thinking of?
