Stable Base.
This is just what I was looking for to strengthen my bird feeder poles. Nice stable base.

Quality product that provides a stable base for bird feeder pole.
I purchased the ground socket together with the Erva FP3NF 60-inch feeder pole. Both items are of quality construction and together they provide a rock solid base and pole for our Bird Buddy feeder. Prior to purchasing these products we had a pole with a five prong base and those short prongs couldn't keep the feeder from swaying around when larger birds landed or took off. It was a little tricky getting the ground socket screwed into the dirt in a plumb alignment. With the pole inserted just deep enough in the socket that I could insert a steel rod into the turning holes, it took two of us to place the socket -- one to eyeball the pole from various angles to keep it as plumb as possible using a bubble level while the other person screwed the socket into the ground. In the end, the pole is tilted a degree or two in one direction but that was our error and not the fault of the socket or pole. A plumb bob hung a few inches adjacent to the pole's intended location might make that task a little easier with a more accurate outcome. If we ever get additional feeders for our yard (or anything else that requires a vertical pole) I'll definitely purchase this Erva again.

Great for bird feeder poles!
It works great for anchoring bird feeder poles, and I will be using this one to put up a digital antenna.

Our Black Bear.
Birders don’t get upset that I left my pole out. Our bear came early in one spring and bent the pole over at where you meet at the ground socket. Another time in late September. My husband has ordered 3. Easy to put back in ground and connect. I highly recommend.

meh
Does not come with screw to attach to pole or any way to screw into the ground. Other than that, it is a good replacement.

Look no further!
Installation is a bit tricky without long handles to drive it into the ground, but a long sturdy screwdriver through the holes in the pole end will do the trick just fine! I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the metal, very heavy and solidly built!

Only Thing Tougher is a Bear!
Strong with ability to add various lengths of 1" pipe and various hangers. Only thing stronger than this anchor is a bear. Had 2 of these bent to the ground beyond repair from bears going after the seed/suet last 3 years. If you have bear presence where you live, bring your feeders in at night and back out in the morning and this feeder system will last for years. I get lazy and voila!, the bears return. Go figure. Highly recommend this product.

Erva has lost it's quality control
I along with several neighbors have purchased this Erva item. We have bears come through our area on occasion, they bend this product beyond repair. Hence the need to re-order... first order the screw holding the pole is missing, returned product. Ordered second one, it comes without a screw and whoever ordered before had a tough time installing it. They used some kind of vice grip and marred the finish all along the shaft. This one was returned as well, now searching for another solution. Erva's quality control is zero at best, and shame on people returning damaged/used product for resale.
