Dark, suspenseful, exciting, intense, dangerous, and incredibly hot!
Absolutely loved this book! It was fast paced, steamy, rough, intense, intriguing, exciting and captivating. It had elements of BDSM, kidnapping, violence, steamy passionate scenes, dirty talking alpha hero, and a strong, feisty, sensitive heroine in distress.I cannot recommend this book enough. It is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. The angst and thrill make it impossible to put this book down. I really loved the characters and their journey. Sean and Claudia definitely complete each other. If you are looking for an amazing well written story that is fast paced, with a dark well-built plot, look no more. This book is IT!!

Very good and extremely long..
I read some of the negative reviews before beginning this book and I gotta say, I didn’t get that. Like, not at all. The author lays a solid foundation with suspenseful intrigue, giving strong descriptions of the characters with excellent backstory deets, and quickly began pulling me in. Within the first few paragraphs of the first chapter I was hooked. I found the darkness of Sean’s best friend, Bradley, nicely counterbalanced the story with Sean being the lighter of the two men..the one with the most sense and control. I especially admired JS’s ability to delve into the psyche of each character; being born into the Irish Mob and how it shaped and mapped out their life-path, explaining their thought process, actions and reactions. Sean has always been a victim of circumstance, forced into a life he abhorred and being controlled by his father. He lashes out by taking control in the bedroom. And then there’s Claudia, who needs an outlet to release her worries. And she achieves this by submitting to Sean. He brings her back to life after living years in cold solitude. JS made it not only believable, but interesting too. She conveys Sean’s growing unrest in his life…realizing the emptiness he feels and how he’d resigned himself to living with that emptiness. Imagine his shock at the discovery of it being fulfilled by something as simple as Claudia’s trust in him. Within him, hope begins to bloom. It was almost heartbreaking to see him war within himself, wanting to trust Claudia but at the same time afraid she would use his trust to betray him and break his heart. He was like a little boy wanting to make new friends for the first time but afraid he’d find out those friends never liked him at all but were only using him. I loved how JS played out Claudia’s emotions…her horrific ordeal of being kidnapped and threatened at gunpoint, held prisoner and forced to treat Sean’s wounds. At the same time the author weaves a slow growing obsession from Sean into the mix, which becomes a contest of wills.I didn’t like the direction JS takes the story when she made Claudia an undercover snitch/spy. I know Claudia agrees only to try and exonerate Sean’s criminal behavior as well as find out who murdered her parent’s. (I thought her very naïve to completely trust and believe that an FBI agent would A). protect her and B). find her parent’s murderers). JS inserts this plot twist for dramatic effect and tension…I know this. I mean, she’s gotta bring this story to a close somehow! Still it didn’t sit well. The ending isn’t believable. It all gels too easily…a life long member of the Irish mob suddenly willingly to work with the FBI and trusting them to grant him full immunity? Nah. I don’t think so. Still a good story not solely based on sex, and I gladly recommend.

slow going
it's an okay read, but the pace is mind numbingly slow. the writing style is good, but there is a lack of dialogue to move things along. typically it has been 6 plus pages of internal thoughts, a few lines of dialogue before back to page after page of internal thoughts. i'm not sure if the author thinks this is the way to have readers connect with the characters, but for me it's the opposite. the lack of actual interaction with the characters and it being so heavy with internal thoughts misses the mark for me - i don't feel the connection between them nor am i really invested in them. it comes across as long winded and whiney and honestly, boring, from both characters. i find myself skimming and i keep checking to see how close i am to the ending because i'm just so tired of reading the same thoughts over and over again.

OMG!!!! WOW!!!! Absolutely LOVE IT!!!!!!
OMG!!!! WOW!!!! I read the original Impossible and Impossible the Companion Sean's POV and I must say that this book brought together both Claudia and Sean's POV excellently. This book was a totally amazing combination of both their sides. It was hot, sexy, suspenseful, and a real page-turner. I absolutely love Claudia and Sean's story. It makes me want to go back and read the original Impossible. This book will definitely not disappoint a reader. You will fall in love with Claudia and Sean. Cheers to Julia Sykes on a great combination of two previous books into one.

... Impossible years ago by Julia Sykes and fell in love with her writing
I discovered Impossible years ago by Julia Sykes and fell in love with her writing. She brings an intensity to her stories with a dash of what many would say is forbidden but many find alluring & intoxicating.I have already read Claudia's POV as well as Sean's so knew the story going in. It was a treat getting their perspectives simultaneously & interwoven throughout the story I already knew. There were little treasures inside as well where Julia wanted to add just a little more to the story we knew. The shorts at the end of the book have some familiar faces and more hot interactions between Sean & Claudia. It can remind one to let go & be free, trust, & communicate with your partner. Life gets in the way but if you trust them & lean on them it can be so much easier & all the more beautiful. If you enjoy tales of dark stories with a mix of sexy times & sweet submissions check this book out & read the rest of Julia's Impossible Series...you won't be disappointed.

Okay
Started off very slowly. The story is good,I wish that the relationship development had been more realistic. The heroine repeatedly but herself in unnecessary danger.

Great read
A well developed plot with plenty of twists. Somewhat of an emotional roller-coaster. At some point I wasn't even sure if Sean was the right guy to vote for. I'll definitely keep an eye on this author. Recommended.

Left with a warm feeling, sad it's over
What an emotional story of the way that even if 2 people seem totally broken love can really turn lives around. The story brings you into the lives of several minor characters as well as the main lovers and shows clearly the effect that tragedy and abuse can have on those affected and also the way that true love can heal these traumas (spice level was great too, but definitely open door). Loved this book and thoroughly recommend it as a good read. Please check triggers before reading as subject matter can cause distress.

A Rollercoaster Ride
Somewhat a rollercoaster of a ride with its deep, dark twists and turns. However, this book does take a little time to get going, but it's worth the wait. Well written.
