My new favorite coiled cable!
So to start off I'll say two things. One; I work with live mixing a lot and have been, with a variety of headphones for about 11 years. Two; V-Moda is one of my two favorite companies, the other being Google. Now for the review. The cable arrived earlier today. I am quite satisfied with it. I prefer coiled cables for normal listening as well as mixing from a soundboard. This particular cable has what appear to be very durable connections. They are solid metal and the cable goes into them a ways, with a spring-like wire wrap extending about an inch off the back of the metal and wrapping around the cable for protection against harsh bends at the connection (most likely place to become damaged is at the connection on most cables). The 1/4in adapter screws onto the 1/8in plug for a more secure connectionOn the headphone end, it's similarly premium build quality, with the exception of the slightly smaller plastic piece that protrudes out the end about 1/16in. It's also the piece that allows you to lock them into your M100s (if you happen to own a pair). The cable isn't the thickest I've ever seen for this type, but it seems to be made very well. The coils are extremely tight and springy, which feels great and makes me think they'll hold their shape/memory for a long time. Opposed to the cable you'd get with a pair of Sennheiser HD280 Pros or Sony MDR-V6 I find this cable much tighter overall. Those seem to be loose, and too pliable to be practically used for what they were designed for. This one is actually my favorite, of the ones I've used.Beyond that, I can think of very little to cover in the review. I haven't noticed any electronic interference from anything manage to slip through the Kevlar wrap on the cable. The price is irrelevant to me. I needed the functionality and would prefer to have one of these with the locking feature for my M100s than something lesser. Would be cool if it came in different colors. Would love it in red (No, I'm not even remotely a Beats garbage fan, I just like red)

... didn't want to spend 30 bucks on what seemed like a basic coil cable for my Vmoda m100s but ...
I really didn't want to spend 30 bucks on what seemed like a basic coil cable for my Vmoda m100s but I bit the bullet and ordered them. I was surprised at the quality if this cable. The coiled section is perfect and bouncy. The cable itself is not overtly heavy even though the pic kinda looks It. The plug sides are top notch. the little coil that protects the cable at the plug feel so professional. Even the 1/4 inch adapter has a nice weight to and I swear the quality sounds better than on the stock cable the headphones came with. Do yourself a favor get this cable. Oh and I forgot to mention it locks place so you never have to worry about it randomly falling out of your headphones. So good!

Recommended for Fidelio X1
Using with Philips Fidelio X1. Cable is very durable and pretty much extandable. When I'm using it on my laptop, I'm walking away and test the extension; it's extending easily, not moving laptop until you extend all the coil.Headphone side of the cable has a locking mechanism to prevent the cable to plug out accidentaly but it's only suitable for V-Moda headphones, not with Fidelio but it has no disadvantage against other cables, it's plugging in just as normal and it's pretty hard to plug out accidentaly even without locking so don't worry, it's a nice cable to use.For Fidelio x1 users, I'm using my headphone with basic output of my Lenovo g570 and about this high empedance of cable, I didn't noticed any difference with original cable and this cable. Maybe it'll show up with some sound card etc.

*Updated* Adapter doesn't work
Cord is great but quarter inch adapter doesn't work. *After emailing back and forth with v-moda (Roland) they re-sent the item with a working adapter.*

What we always needed.
Finally! I made the purchase after my original cable started going out. I should have gotten this one from the start. The coil is clean, uniform and what we have always needed. WHY do they send a stupid long original cable out of the box?! Seriously, the original black cable (which is the one that everyone wants to use) is way too long for any dj booth. The 2nd manageable cable is an off-color orange that doesn't match anyones clothing. The Black Coilpro is as short as it needs to be and is long enough to take a call in another room. Coil is still holding tight after a few months. VERY happy with this. Icing on the cake is the twist lock feature on the end that goes into the headphones. So satisfying. Although if you leave your headphones on your head as you dance during your set which I do every single time, the coil will "boing" in response to your head bobs. It makes me laugh when it happens. Make the purchase and have more fun in your sets!

Poor quality; no reply from company
Low rating because the aluminum cover on the locking/headphone end separated from the cable after ~23 months of EXTREMELY light use (the aluminum just glued onto molded plastic). Very few connect/disconnect cycles as I use this with my desktop PC. No need to cycle the connector most of the time.Tried to contact V-Moda but they did not respond one way or the other. The cable itself is very nice and sounded fine, but with poorly glued on decorative pieces, it's masquerading as a quality item. Has potential but falls short.

Exactly what I expected.
As not to rehash what others have already said I'll just say it's a great cable and as far as I know it's the only coiled cable that fits the tiny recessed jack of the V-Moda Crossfade series. Build quality is what I've come to expect from V-Moda and the extra attention to detail is fantastic. It is compatible with the LP and LP2 but it doesn't feel like it "clicks" into place as well as the standard V-Moda audio cable on my Crossfade LPs (possibly due to the small tab near the plug for the locking mechanism on the M-100) . It's by no means loose but it doesn't take much of a tug to partially dislodge it. I won't knock a star for that as I'd rather have the cable pop loose than have my headphones torn off my head.
