More than meets the eye
I really don't enjoy weddings that much; and wedding photos are pretty low on my list of things to look at. However, a friend wanted me to take photos at his wedding so I read this book. Sensibly I declined taking photos at his wedding and he got a professional. (Just because I have a nice camera does not mean I take nice photos!) The book explains how to position the couple for staged photos and interesting things to do with the lighting. I especially enjoyed the sections in the back of the book that was kind of a "cook book" of how to set the gang up for different photos. The author also discussed the artistic photos of the bride; some work and some don't in capturing the "character" of the bride using lighting and composition. This book is also enjoyable to look at. After reading the explanations of how the shots were created I doubt that I will look at good wedding photos without an appreciation of what the photographer did to make them happen. It's another good photography book that should give the average person a jump start into taking better than average photos at a wedding. (Bonus points if your wife catches you reading it!)

An excellent book, great ideas
This book shows alot of great poses and shares many good ideas. Expecially nice are Rick's lighting diagrams and the way he shows how he meters to combine flash with ambient lighting. Also helpful are his ideas posing with diagrams showing how lighting should fall in relation to stances and poses. His hand poses as well as high and low key shots were nicely done also.I am surprised that Amhearst Media, Inc., did not print this book in color!

Very good book, but could have clearer layout
I found the book to be very informative, especially the explanations of lighting techniques and meter readings. But it could have been better organized. It mixes buisness advice with photographic techniques. Maybe a seperate chapter should be dedicated to the advice. Overall a very good book and well worth reading.

Very good, with good techniques and easy to follow diagrams.
Many of the photgraphs in this book are good, with several that are great!! by studying these photos it is easy to devolop a style that is all your own, using the photograps as a guide. The text read well, and the diagrams are really clear. I would recomend this book to anyone who wants to get a start in wedding photograpy. The only mistake I found in the book is on page 36 where the groom looks like a bunny rabbit! I loved the book completly, and thought it was a nice suppliment to my text books from school.

Great book
The book was in excellent condition, and it arrived in very short amount of time. The content itself of the book is a great overview for photographers wanting to get into wedding photography. Easy read with lots of pictures. :)

Found the format a bit disjointed.
I found the format of this book to be a bit disjointed. While it contained some usefull information I felt it could have been formatted a bit better.
