ZeoFiber - (2) 3lb bags

I ordered this stuff so my 7 tear old could help with the filter cleaning and me not worry about him breathing in DE. But I'm back to DE. I gave this stuff a fair try and went through three bags. The issue is that it filters too well and every little thing Mother Nature put's in the air ends up in the pool and in the filter. Starting with a BRAND NEW Hayward Pro Grid I used the recommended amount, 5 hours later needed back washing; That was expected. Another 5 hours later, back washing again. That was expected. Fast forward to the sixth time I had to backwash I finally ended up leaving it just to see how long it would go.Keep in mind that all the while the pressures are way up just from using this stuff; it is more restrictive even when clean. Normally my clean filter with fresh DE reads 12 PSI; with this stuff it was around 19 PSI. I let it go for two days knowing it needed it's 7th backwash. Pressures were as high at 35 PSI. I got nervous and back washed it an 8th time. And as usual, 5 hours later it was again at backwash pressures (double starting pressures).The end result of all of this is that the water flow to the pool and spa was ALWAYS too low to do any good; the waterfall stopped working after each time I back washed 5 hours later. It was just nuts. So I gave up and went back to DE. I am still on my first charge two weeks into it and pressures are at a steady 13 PSI as I would expect for a working filter and it's media. The summary is that again, it just filters to fine a particle to be any real use. I could see maybe a partial DE/fiber mix. But to go full fiber is asking for aggravation in my opinion.But the proof is in the pudding. If your like me your going to have to give it a shot to believe how painful it is. So just look for a sweet deal like this and order a bag or two. Don't over order like me though. I now have an unopened bag that I can't throw away (out of principle) but will never use.

I bought this to use at the beginning of pool season with new filter grids. I followed the suggested amount from the back of the bag and the pool has looked great ever since.Since then, I've had to back-wash the filter once. The water was fairly clean to start with, though, so if you have a lot of debris to filter out, you may have to backwash more (perhaps a lot more).Also, it's important to follow the directions for backwashing on the bag. You have to cycle/rinse several times compared to DE, so make sure to do that and you shouldn't have problems with high-pressure like others have mentioned. It pays to read the instructions.

This is the only stuff I use. Other brands are fine as well. This stuff cleans the water really well. The water actually shimmers. Just buy by price. The patents are expired, I believe, and this stuff is really just paper.

Good product at a low price

I initially purchased this thinking that it was better than DE because it is better for environmental reasons, and I was back washing more frequently because of algae problems. My problem turned out to be an elevated level of phosfate and I discovered a solution that required me to add the product to the skimmer in order to coat the filters. It kept clogging the filter and I kept having to backwash. I finally decided that the zeofiber was the problem so I got regular DE and now I don't have any algae and I haven't had to backwash.

I have used ZeoFiber for approximately 3 years.Easy, pool is really clean (better than DE) and non-toxic.

great stuff.....use about 1/4 of a 1 pound can to coat the filter. less backwashing this summer so far. incredible stuff!

Zeo Fiber works great! Water really is sparkling clear! When our local pool supply store stopped carrying Zeo we tried another brand and was not satisfied at all.
