Some Jankiness but a fun collection, buy reduced price not full retail.
Writing this review about to finish Yakuza 4.Yakuza 3- is really not great. It shows its age with the wonky walk cycles, very unfun side stuff (which is usually most of the fun!) and just a storyline thats kinda worthless. I can see why this one wasnt brought over for so long, because its really not necessary. Yes theres some decent moments, but overall it felt like a stepping stone.Yakuza 4- Okay, so unless the finale changes my opnion drastically, this one is MUCH better then 3. It still have some of the jankiness, but the story is a lot better and makes up for it. I was apprehensive going into this one, not being able to play our boy Kiryu right from the getgo, but the other main characters are actually relevant and a decent change of pace. They all play different and have interesting techniques. For instance, you can totally tank hits as the Tiger, but if you try that same thing with either the phoenix or the tortoise you are gonna get walloped. The split characters does something similar to Zero in that, each person gets more info and a different perspective on things, and when everything starts colliding, its really enjoyable. The combat in these older ones are definitely some of the weakest points, and again the side stuff isnt really as great as it was with Zero or two in my opinion, but theres some fun stuff, (like a Curry based super hero)Yakuza 5- Havent played it yet, but can update when I do.So for the two Ive played, the remasters are definitely alright. Three feels very weak, and is almost skippable, for four you definitely get your moneys worth. I wouldnt pay full $60 retail for the collection, but maybe $40 is a better idea. You can get that amount of enjoyment out of 4 alone, even if you really dont like three (like I do).

Yes, play Yakuza 3
I played the original 3, 4, and 5 on ps3. This is a good upgrade if you find the originals difficult to play. Yakuza 3 is often skipped but it's well worth playing, especially on the remastered collection. PS4 controls aren't much different but I found it easier after just finishing 6 and returning to replay 3 to hold the controller. Play Yakuza 3, kyodais.

Three HD remasters
This is the third, fourth, and fifth games for Yakuza. In fact, this is the first time five got a physical release outside of Japan, Asia, and Korea. The biggest difference I have noticed is with four, one of the characters, Masayoshi Tanimura, had to be redesigned due to his actor, Hiroki Narimiya, announced his retirement after being falsely accused of being on cocaine. The actor that he's modeled after now, Toshiki Masuda, is also the VA for a character in My Hero Acadamia. I haven't played it yet, but I did a quick search to make sure I had the Actors right. And the third game is running like a dream. Works well so far and it even came in much earlier than I had expected!

If you’re a fan of the series, this is a must!
Most who are looking at this are already fans of the series. If you don’t currently have the collection on PS4/PS5, this collection of games (3-5 of the series) is quite the prize! It’s all conveniently packed in a 2 disc set. All the bells and whistles are here, and a bit more! If you’re on the fence about this, jump right off and enjoy these 3 amazing games! Yakuza fans should be quite pleased with this collection.

Excellent Product, Misleading Product Page
This product page states that "The Yakuza Remastered Collection brings the final missing chapters in Kiryu’s story to the PlayStation 4. From Yakuza 0 to Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, players can now experience the full story of The Dragon of Dojima, all on a single platform."That quote makes it sound like you get Yakuza 0 through 6 in this collection, but what's really in the box is Yakuza 3, 4, and 5, which were the "final missing" remasters needed to come to PS4 in order for the whole story to be "all on a single platform". So, if you want the entire story arc, you'll still need to buy Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, Yakuza Kiwami 2, and Yakuza 6 separately.Because of this misleading advertising, I'm reducing the score from 5 stars to 4. Truthfully, I think Yakuza 3 through 5 deserves a 5-star rating, they're good remasters of great games, but this kind of product description deception should not go uncriticized. Looking through the other reviews after the fact, it's clear that I'm not the only person late to collecting physical copies of Yakuza that were tricked by this marketing.
