Hiking Boots!🥾🥾
Upon doing a deep dive Chatgpt search for the best aftermarket insoles for my new Asolo 520 leather hiking boots, Superfeet Carbon is what was highly recommended. Received them yesterday, installed them and tried the boots today for several hours and thus far they are working out really well. The heel is planted firmly and providing great support. I'm quite pleased with this purchase.

Flat feet requires lower arch support and these are it!!!
If you have flat feet, you MUST use an insole that has a lower arch support. Do NOT get an insole with arches that push up too high or else you will experience pain. About 10+ years ago, folks said the flatter your arch, the higher the arch support in the insole. But now, it's the opposite. And believe it or not, if you have flat fleet, it isn't really about arch support but it's more about overall foot stability. And insoles with a nice heel cup will provide that. In regards to the Superfeet Carbon, I love them. I switched from Powerstep insoles to these. While Powerstep has provided me the support I needed since 2002, it's now to use insoles with a lower arch support for my flat feet and I have to say, I noticed difference the first day. While I was able to run in Powersteps, the arch I thought was always too high. While the Powersteps eliminated shin splints and knee pain, my feet sometimes would experience an awkward pain towards the far outside edges and this make sense since the Powersteps pushes my arch higher and therefore distributing more weight towards the outside of my feet. With the Carbons, the arch support is lower but it's still there. The key is the heel cup. The support the heel cup provides is absolutely the best and while it keeps my heel locked in, the insole reinforces my entire foot to work as it should with minimal to no roll in the heel section. If you play sports, run or do a lot of walking and you have flat feet, please get these. It's the best $50 you'll ever spend. I currently own one and I plan on purchasing my 2nd and 3rd pair.

No more venting holes?
Update: They removed the venting holes which are particularly important to me since I distant run. I would have thought it was a mistake but I ordered two pairs in different sizes be the venting holes are missing from both. That’s disappointing especially since there was no indication that they made a design change. Original Review I’m a distance runner (on and off since 1989). Over the past year I started having sharp knee pains when running and then when walking. So I stopped running, but I could not stop walking. The pain occurred frequently, almost every time I walked. Also I had a trip planned to Spain where I would be walking many miles. After a lot of research I found these inserts for low arch/flat feet. They arrived days before my trip and I started using them immediately. The first walk I had zero knee pain and I was cautiously optimistic. I wore them in Spain and walked many miles (approximately 30) with zero knee pain. Thank God!! They really work! I wore three different pairs or shoes swapping the inserts each time. I’ll be ordering several more because I wear various work, casual and athletic shoes. By the way, I’ve been switching these inserts between my sneakers, oxfords, and casual footwear and they fit perfectly and work in each style. I’m truly impressed and so happy. Now I can begin training for my next race. One note about comfort, they are noticeable because they provide support where your foot needs it. Some may find this uncomfortable at times. No knee pain far outweighs the feeling of the artificial arch support. I’ve already gotten used to the feeling of the new support. They have a new customer for sure.

Not cheap but probably worth it
This is my second pair of this exact product. I actually wore out the previous shoes but not the superfeet. The hard composite piece looked almost like new after about 10 months and who knows how many miles. The foam part was slightly flattened and starting to wear under my one toe. I could have easily gotten another 6 months out of the previous pair except they stank to high heaven in spite of shoe odor sprays. Since I didn't like the idea of my brand new shoes starting out smelling foul, I just chucked the old superfeet and bought more. There's not a lot to say. They're an insole. They provide good arch support. They may make your feet hurt a week or two before you get used to them. There's a decent chance they'll make your shoes squeak somewhat loudly when you walk. I decided to try some because I developed plantar fasciitis after wearing shoes for overpronating when I should have had neutral. Oops. The superfeet did the trick and my feet eventually stopped hurting. Day to day I don't notice much difference but my feet do hurt less after long walks and the extra arch support is nice. I wear 4E (wide) shoes so I ordered up a size and trimmed the ends. These are better than drugstore insoles and cheaper than custom orthotics so if you think they'd help you, it's not a bad choice.

Having flat or collapsed arch, I have a lot of pain after every run. I have bought many arch support insoles but this is by far the best for me!! Thin yet provide enough arch support and heel stabiliser cup for all tight running shoes!

Previously I have always worn the BLACK Superfeet insoles (they are thin, so fit most shoes) in my footwear. But decided to try these CARBON insoles for more support in trainers and walking shoes. Goodness, they are excellent. They are almost as thin as the BLACK ones, BUT the arch support is far more robust so gives better arch supports to my feet during long days of walking or travelling. They aren't cheap, but then they stop knee and hip pain, and that is worth it!
