UPDATE The best camera we've bought so far and we have several different brands !
UPDATE: I had recently got a new router, a Netgear Nighthawk and was having a problem getting the Reolink cameras connected back again but after much research......SUCCESS! I found a solution that worked for me, hopefully this info might help others too. After researching even more online I found a suggestion to try creating a guest wifi network on your router. So I gave it a try and it WORKED to get my 3 Reolink Argus PT cameras connected to me new router. Now while I feel like it wasn't necessary in my case to give the guest wifi network a password without any special characters I did it anyhow and used just numbers and letters (the cameras had connected to my old router with a special character in that password) Another point to remember is I think you need to have your phone on the same network when adding the cameras. Just checked and it seems you need to make sure your phone is connected to the guest network when wanting to access the Reolink cameras you connected thru the guest network. (now I have other brand cameras that I connect to the main network that I can still access when on the guest network but an indoor Reolink camera I have E1 that I was able to connect to the main network I can't access thru the guest network like the other brands. Now I did try seeing if I could switch the cameras back to the main wifi but it didn't work and I have to remove and reinstall the camera I tried it on and add it again to the guest wifi network to access it again. Well, I guess having to switch networks when wanting to go from the outside Reolinks to the inside Reolink is better than buying a new router or new cameras and I am simply thankful I could get them to finally reconnect as I was beginning to think I'd have to replace them with other brands of cameras. Original review: This is Karen's husband writing this review as I am the "tech guy" in our home. I am VERY pleased with how the camera is performing so far, so the 4.2 out of 5 rating seems well deserved. I admit I had some reservations when I read some of the reviews that were negative, in my opinion some may have been because of an individually defective product and some may have been due to lack of detailed enough directions. When I was first trying to connect the camera to our WIFI it wouldn't connect, then I realized I forgot to type in our WIFI password, DUH ! After I added the password it connected immediately. The camera is roughly about 85 feet from our WIFI router and goes thru 2 walls and still has kept connected very well. Also, we have Amazon Alexa and at first could not get Alexa to recognize the camera, so I did an online search for help and found a page on the Reolink support site with the steps needed to connect to Alexa, after reading that page I saw there was a step I didn't know about, once I followed those steps Alexa connected very well ! We can view the live camera feed from our smartphone app, from our "Echo Shows" via voice command, and even on our tv screens with Amazon Firestick (we have other brands of security cameras we view thru the Firestick also) so I can use a voice command and see different cameras on the screens including the Reolink camera, and I did not have to download anything to the Firestick, simply enable Alexa according to the directions on the help page I mentioned. I already had security cameras looking from our home outward, I wanted a wireless solar PTZ camera I could mount away from the house that I could turn to look at the house as well as turn to view other areas of our property not covered by the cameras we already had. So I mounted the camera on a thick (schedule 40) PVC pipe and mounted the solar panel on the very top of the pole, I used 3 hose clamps to fasten the PVC pipe to a 4 foot metal fence post I hammered into the ground, so far it seems to working very well. I will upload a picture of it. I do a lot of research before buying tech stuff, and it would be difficult to find ANY product that is perfect or that you might wish had more or better features, but for the features you get with this camera (including solar powered, PTZ capability, Alexa connectivity) I really can't complain for the price paid. Note: Remember this is not a commercial grade professional system, but commercial grade features likely cost much higher commercial grade prices, so again, for the price paid I really can't complain, I feel this camera does really pretty good for it's price level !

Great Cam, Lots of Features
This camera is perfect for our needs. Setup is easy and there are lots of features we like: * Onboard storage * Pan/Tilt control * Night vision * Motion detection * Object identification * Sound capture * Intercom * Alarm and Custom alarm * Text/email alerts and notifications * Time lapse * Solar panels to keep batteries charged We have 6 installed around the perimeter of our house. We can access and control them from anywhere we happen to be. The cameras connect to our home LAN. We suggest getting as much onboard storage as you can (128G max) for storing video clips and stills. The default video quality is somewhat limited, however it can increased at the expense of video storage. Even so, we have never run out of storage. These are not suitable for 24/7 monitoring. There is just not enough battery power for that. However, with motion detection, we can have lots of video clips triggered by cars, animals, and people. The clips are available via the app. One time we setup time lapse to record replacement of our fence. The recording was great! You could watch progress as the shadows tracked the sun. This did drain the batteries a lot, but they recovered the next (sunny) day. The solar panels do an excellent job of keeping the batteries charged. You can also get extension cords for the solar panels so they can be mounted in a sunny location. Even on cloudy days, the panels keep the batteries topped off during normal usage. We have one installed on our front porch. The cameras allow for two-way communication so we can have conversations with people who come to our door (much like the 'doorbell' cams). We have programmed a custom siren that informs delivery people to lock packages in the delivery locker on our front porch. We love PTZ feature! PTZ is a little misleading since there is no onboard zoom. However, you could pinch the video in the app to 'zoom.' You can point the cam almost anywhere you want. The motion detection is very sensitive. Sometimes it picks up too much motion such as plants blowing in the wind. For that, we can setup exclusion zones to filter out motion. We are still discovering and experimenting with its features. The Reolink app is very useful and allows us access whenever we are. It is not 24/7 surveillance, but suits our needs. We are very pleased with the camera's performance and would recommend it to anyone.

Solar charging in cold weather
Excellent camera, no issues other than solar battery charging in cold weather. In temperatures below 40 degrees F, battery does not charge. Note this appears to be battery/camera temperature rather than solar panel temperature . When camera is more exposed to sun, air temperatures can be lower. Consider camera mounting; I.e not under eaves. Battery life is good, dependent on recording frequency & duration.

A++
I own a company and needed to set up cameras on the exterior of the building. I have Reolink cameras installed outside my house and love them so I went with Reolink for my business as well. These cameras are great quality for the price! Since they are solar you don’t have to worry about battery. They are also wireless so you’re not spending days hard wiring everything which makes setup extremely easy. The picture quality is wonderful! Depending on how you set them up the sensitivity can be great too. For example set it up not realizing I had it set too low for cars going by and ended up seeing just how many cats, bunnies and rodents went past my building at night. Also they hold up to the weather. I am located in the northeast and we just had a massive snowstorm and the cameras held up like champs!! Highly recommend.

I've tried many different security systems over the years but Reolink is by far my favorite, I've been using their products for close to 10 years now. The reason I love Reolink is because they offer high quality products, great video quality, are flexible when comes to recording and are affordable. This particular product is a great starter kit if you are looking for an all-in-one wire free solar solution. First it includes 4 Argus PT Solar WiFi cameras with the panels. What's great about solar cameras is that the installation is simplified because you don't have to worry about network cables or power cables, no drilling holes in your house either. The kit comes with all the hardware needed for wall installation and also straps if you wish to install the cameras on a pole, tree or branch. I suggest testing and adding each camera on the Reolink APP before installing them, this makes it so much easier in case there's any issues you don't have to be perched on a ladder to troubleshoot. The APP works well, my personal experience as been with the Android version and I can say that it gets regular updates that includes bug fixes and new features. At 5MP / 2K the video quality of the Argus cams is very good. Night time recording is good especially at close range, but if you can have lighting, motion detection spot lights it greatly improves quality at night. They are pan & till 355° and 140° with auto tracking ( feature that you can turn of if you wish for them to remain stationary ). You can also manually move the cameras on the APP so you can have your camera pointing exactly where you want. Smart detection for cars, animals and people is included and what it great is that you can filter events/recordings by type (people, animals, cars). The delay for motion alerts on your phone/APP is pretty quick at around 8-10 seconds. You can live view the cameras on the APP or access recorded events on the microSD car or the cameras themselves or the Hub. One thing I really love about Reolink is the flexibility for recording and accession recordings/events/alerts. You are not forced/locked into a paid subscription model or paid cloud recordings. They do offer that service but it's not mandatory because you can record and access events locally on microSD cards on the cameras themselves at no cost. With this kit you also have the Home Hub Mini which is similar to an NVR but in a more compact and affordable form. What is great about the Hub is that in records all 4 cameras in a central location on microSD card so if your camera gets vandalized you still have access to recordings that are in a safe location. If you want you can just record on the Hub, but personally I like having a small 32GB microSD card on each camera in addition to a 512GB one on the Hub so that I have redundant recordings. There's also room for expanding to 8 cameras in total with the Home Hub Mini. You can access recording on the HUB via the APP, you can also copy recording to a USB key. These cameras have no issues working in the harsh cold winters of Quebec, the solar panels and batteries performance do drop during the cold and diminished sun exposure but if your panels are well placed and your cameras are not in high traffic areas they will keep work and have enough juice. One thing I will say is that I don't suggest using solar cameras on a high traffic area, you don't want constant notifications/event recordings that will drain your batteries. I find these types of cameras great to monitor less busy side entrances, backyards or quiet rural streets. It wouldn't be my first option for a busy city street. Another thing to mention is that the Home Hub Mini is a great affordable device but it has a few limitation like no HDMI to connect a monitor so you have to rely on the APP to view the feeds. Overall, Reolink does a great job with this kit of providing a high quality product and keeping it affordable for home users.

This Reolink camera is my fifth that I have bought within the last 3 or so years. The newest version has a motion detector spotlight built-in, which works really great at night. Overall it is a great outdoor camera that swivels left/right/up/down.....the only issue, but not a deal breaker, is that the internal battery only lasts about 3-4 years before it won't take a charge.
