Durable and beats out magnetic bit holders.
Forget about magnetic bit holders. This locking bit holder is miles ahead. It’s durable and you do not need to worry about the bit falling off or getting stuck on the fasteners.

Slim, good concept of locking/unlocking mechanism
The size is good. The holding hex bit end is not too bulky and that is good for small space. Materials look good. The reasons that one star is deducted because: the unlocking isn't smooth to pull and taking a bit of pull to get the bit out. The sliding collar does not slide smoothly as well. It seems that it could use a bit of lube (I could be wrong here, that over time it wear in and will get smoother over time). You still need to use a bit of force to pull out the bit even when you pull the unlocking ring down. Last complain, this is not direct to DeWalt product. For some reason, my unit has a bit crack at the seam to open the package thus dust get into it a bit as well as it shows some sort of white cover on the black stem. It is not a corrosion, I believe. This could be the item has been returned and seal broke off cause the dust to accumulated.

This thing is awesome
My old bit holder extension was horrible. The bits would stay is the screw and slide out of the extension. This new one locks the bits in and they WILL NOT come out of the extension until you want them to. 👍🏾👍🏾

Save yourself lots of time.
This is a life saver when you're up against a wall. It moves your impact back enough to get your bit engaged. My only wish is for identical but add a wobbly.

For close to walls it's a must.
Just what I needed to get into all those tight spots next to a wall etc. Not sure yet how it will hold up, but with my occasional DIY use, it will be perfect I'm sure.
