Used the handle to restore an antique rusty axe. First Used electrosis to remove rust from old axe. Then Got this handle but I measured the size wrong, (my fault). It was an easy trim with a little sanding to make the axe head fit perfectly. Quality wood handle replacement product, American Hickory.

I should have measured the head before buying so I ended up shaving down to fit my axe head. I just don't see how any mfg would make an axe head this big for a 14" handle... but oh well. So far the wood is holding up. Grain direction was perfectly in line FYI

I've been looking for a handle for this old blacksmith forged hatchet head. This one came a little oversized for the eye which allowed me to shape it down for a perfect fit. And as Clint Eastwood said, "There's nothing like a nice piece of hickory."

I bought this to repair an old family hatchet! The fit was perfect. It came with a great appearance and finish. We took it out camping to chop some wood and it performed great! This is a great value for what I paid.

Seems like a decent handle, good grain. But the end that the head attaches to is a bit short for a standard hatchet head. By the time you whittle it back to fit the head it is well in to the “knuckle” of the handle, which needs to be the strongest part. But it should work.

It comes with wedges.
