GRINDER AND SMASHER
I am very disappointed in this toy. It was not explained that the bug maker bugs cannot smash as there is no goop in it. So I wasted my time buying it.

I sent this back. Was actually looking for the actual bug maker. Found it at Toys 'R Us. The bug maker was horribe. We took it back. Grandson lost interest right away. Bugs fell apart. I am so glad I sent the Smasher and Grinder back because I am sure that this would rate right up there with the bug maker.

Don't waste your time or money.
Don't waste your money on this toy or the Creep Crawler Maker either. Not at all what is says it will do. My 6yr. old grandson was so dissapointed.

Bug Making Time ... Ridiculous Fun ...
I reviewed this toy through the deluxe version, and I have nothing bad to say as it kept the kids attention for hours for three weekends in a row. This is a toy which teaches some patience (as it takes time to make the bug) and sharing (as you can only only make one at a time). It's messy -- but it's a kid's toy, and to them this is the greatest thing ever conceived. I thoroughly recommended adult supervision with this for reasons stated in my review.Don't worry, everything cleans up nicely and so far, this stuff hasn't stained anything yet. The bug crushing station portion is a real hit for the really little ones and the older girls, haha. All the kids were playing cooperatively with each other and being grossed out completely. It doesn't get much better than this. Let's be honest. And most kids do know the difference between a real bug and an inanimate object.

Definitely NOT recommended
My niece received this toy as a gift, and I am a proud aunt that she played with it once then promptly asked her mom to donate it to charity. Schools are (hopefully) trying to teach our kids to respect nature, be curious about it, learn about it. We teach them to realize that things in nature, like bugs, are necessary for our ecosystems to survive beyond their lifetimes. And then this 'game' teaches them the exact opposite! Even my niece picked up on this, asking me afterward how she knows 'which bugs she should like and which should she smash?"This toy teaches all the wrong messages--give your child credit for knowing better than this, please!
