Dog Diaries #7: Stubby

My 8-year-old saw the movie about SGT Stubby, so, when I saw this book, I knew I had to get it for her. She devoured this book! Every time she would come out of her room (girl's gotta eat sometime!), she'd excitedly tell us all about the adventures Stubby had in that section. There were some big/unfamiliar words (such as bayonet), which I appreciate because it helps expand her vocabulary. It also showed me how involved in the story she was because she would ask about the different words, instead of just skipping over them. We definitely recommend this book!

What a great way to introduce some little known facts about WW1 prior to veterans day. At our school we will honor and remember the end of WW1 and this dog, this story will educate the young students in history and devotion and love between a man and his dog in times of great stress.

My granddaughter loves dogs and really loves her pit bull. Great story, with actual historical facts.Each story is full of historical factors. The authors do excellent reach.

The book is lovely written and kept my boys hooked for hours on end. It's written from the dog's perspective so it gives you an interesting view into WW1.

I liked the story. As an educator, I like that the story is from the point of view of the dog.

We bought 1 to 7, I read them to the kids at nite and on road trips we all absolutely love them. We have read 4 of them we rate all 5 star. Love them
