Thumbs up from a 123# average-size, trim woman
Got this extra-soft coccyx cushion for a visiting friend who recently bruised her coccyx and is having to spend several hours a day sitting at a computer. A regular foam sofa-throw pillow did not give her enough comfort. She's about 123# and a trim, average build. Initially I got her a well-reviewed, good quality "SmartHome Coccyx Orthopedic Comfort Foam Seat Cushion (Gray)". A nice pillow but far too firm for her weight, especially at the front edge where it pushed uncomfortably against her thighs. Also, with its very firm cushion, it made her feel she was falling into the relief cutout. Thankfully, this extra-soft cushion gets a big thumbs up from her. It does squish down quite a bit, and she prefers to keep the throw pillow under it, but it supports her weight appropriately so she can sit for hours at the computer without further irritating her coccyx. (Another trick we've found that helps is to change the cushions to a different type of chair 3 or 4 times during the course of a day. It forces her to slightly change her sitting posture and pressure points.)As others have said in reviews of various coccyx cushions, you may have to try a few to find out what works for you. This one is indeed "extra-soft" and I'd guess if you were over 135# you'd not get much support. But I have read side-by-side, critical 1-star reviews of other cushions where one customer said it was hard as a rock and another customer of about the same weight reviewed the same pillow as worthlessly soft. Soooo... read reviews, do your research, buy one, try it, and swap it out for something different if it does not give you relief. À votre santé !

This Pillow has probably saved my legs!
Being disabled and having to sit for hours I've had problems for years with pain in my tailbone, and the circulation to my legs being compromised due to lack of movement. I've bought probably over a dozen different pillows in the last few years trying to find one that is strong enough to hold up to my sitting on it for long periods, but soft enough that it wouldn't be painful to sit on it. I'd given up hope until I accidentally found myself looking at this product. It was 'soft' and my first response was that it wouldn't hold up or last, much less be comfortable. However, in the past I'd bought foam hard pillows trying to find something to meet my expectations, but it was just throwing my money away because none of them worked. The first time I sat on this I could not believe it was so comfortable and frankly, just sat waiting for the familiar numbness which always progressed to severe pain and edema in both legs, swelling from my blood vessels being compromised. Didn't happen. My husband couldn't believe I wasn't in tears from the pain, nor could I, but I felt great. I've used this pillow now long enough to know that it is a miracle product for me and I'm going to order more of them so I'll have extras to take on trips or use other places I sit. If you've had the same problem I cannot encourage you strong enough to buy this product. It raised my legs enough that they fit on the small footstool where my feet rest and my circulation has greatly improved. I don't think it's an over exaggerating to say it probably has saved my legs.

Good if You Need a Firm Cushion
These types of cushions are difficult to discern. I made one of my own, and then ordered 2 different types from Amazon - to provide relief from coccyx pain while sitting. I think it is a very personal determination which cushion works best for you. This cushion was a bit larger than expected (14 1/2" x 20" instead of 13 x 16) and it is, indeed, VERY FIRM. For me, it is too firm; I prefer the other brand I purchased better. However, some people might get better relief from such a firm cushion. It seems well made, has a zippered cover, vinyl on one side and suede on the other to prevent slipping. The overall height (3") and slope are good. The cut-out for the coccyx is adequate, and there is a sewn-in carrying handle. The color is a very dark brown and would look just fine if I had to carry it with me for jury duty or something. I have not yet tried this one in the car, only in my home office.I only rated it 3 stars because it is too firm for me. That may not be fair. It is as advertised, and extra firm may be what you need.

Pretty cushy...
Wasn't sure what to expect since this is the first time I have had need for this type of cushion. For some reason my very expensive office chair became uncomfortable. Before I knew it my tailbone was very bruised and I had a hard time sitting on ANY chair or sofa...(even my bed!)I ordered this cushion because it seemed to fit the bill for what I needed. It did seem to relieve a lot of my pain since I do tend to sit 90% of the time at work. I imagine if I used it 100% of the time I wouldn't have ANY pain, but I am not about to carry this all over the place with me. I love the cover, it has a suede-like fabric on the top. Zipper in the front and a nice (not cheap) vinyl around the edges and the bottom. It's shaped like a wedge and seems to keep it's shape fairly well considering it has my big bottom sitting on it! It's a dark chocolate brown which surprised me because I thought I was ordering a black one. Nevertheless, it's worked out great for me and I thought it was a decent price for what I received. Yes, I would buy it again!
