ARM 64-Bit Assembly Language

I would like to thank the authors for writing this book. There are very few resources available for writing 64-bit ARM assembly language programs. This is a very good introduction to the topic. Please note that they give some discussion in later chapters to the Raspberry Pi, but the default operating system that is available for the Raspberry Pi is 32-bit Raspbian (I use 64-bit Ubuntu Mate on my Raspberry Pi 4 and it works fine.)

I like the book but there are a couple of things I was looking for which are not in it so I am giving it 4 start instead of 5.1. Not enough examples. I like to code up working examples and learn from them (a lot like one learns music by playing other people's pieces)2. There is a chapter on systems programming on ARM64 but I was hoping for more info. I am an OS/Driver/Hypervisor developer, so while the user space instructions are great to know (for debugging at least), I was hoping to get more out of systems programming. I hope the authors either add new chapters to this book or write a new book specifically for OS/hypervisor develop on ARM64.One last gripe -- the web version of the book has funky fonts making it a little bit difficult to read sometimes.

This book is super dry and a slow read. Some of the chapters are really long and should be broken up into smaller chapters. Overall it provides great coverage of AARCH64 instructions, but does feel a lot like just reading 500 pages of an instruction reference (ie., pretty dull).

A good book but digresses in places from the subject in-hand. This is designed primarily as a University course module text. In that context it is probably 5 stars, but for my purposes the digressions from Arm 64 bit assembler are a diversion. However the text included most of the information I was looking for.
