Acupressure Anti-Headache Thumb Band

Let me preface this review by saying that I used to have an Eglauf Clamp (bought on Amazon) that applied pressure to both sides of the hand simultaneously and it worked better for me than this band. However, the clamp broke and is no longer available anywhere...I don't think it's even made anymore. This band is the next best thing. This item is a good addition to my migraine arsenal. I use it along with OTC medication, ice packs for forehead and neck, and laying down and relaxing. It doesn't cure anything by itself, but it eases the intensity of the pain and assists with the relief. The band is adjustable with a hook and loop on elastic, so it probably fits most adult hands. It started to fray almost immediately upon wearing, however the fraying didn't continue and it seems to be holding together fine. A side note: the Hoku pressure point may be difficult to find at first, but the instructions that come along with the band do a great job of explaining how to find it. Be patient and practice when you're not in the middle of a migraine and you'll find the right spot so when you DO have a headache, you'll be able to work with the band easily.

I have headaches every day. The bands keeps many of the headaches to a minimum. Can't explain it, but I like it.

WASTE OF MONEY

It broke the first time I wore it. I put it one while I was typing at my computer. The thumb hole was also too small.

I have no idea how or why it works, but it actually tamps down a headache. Quickly, too.

Being a migraine sufferer, I was really anticipating trying this item BUT the product has an EXTREMELY strong perfume/soap ODOR that is from being on a shelf next to strong smelling items or possibly being packaged w/ them. Therefore,once I have a headache, it is not possible for me to even try the product because strong perfume smells ALWAYS make migraines much worse. So, I am extremly disappointed that I can't give it a fair shot. I used to work in a natural foods store so I am very familiar w/ this smell. A lot of the natural soaps have a very potent smell. I'd like to try one right off the production line!
