This book of Australia is quite thick and informative. The guide is updated for august 2022 which is useful for traveling soon. The pint is good quality and the price is reasonable. Recommend this book if you plan to travel to Australia.

This guide has set itself a large task by trying to cover all of Australia in a single book. As a result sometimes the level of detail on some places is fleeting. However, it is very good on the main cities. Many of the restaurant and hotel recommendations are excellent. If you are planning a independently travelling trip to Australia this will not only help you plan your destinations, but will give you lots of inspiration. When travelling, the size and scope of the book isn't idea - it is an inch thick and therefore rather heavy. But the self guided walks and maps and attraction details are very useful. As with all Eyewitness guides, there are lots of photos and pictures, which lifts this above some of its competitors. It's much easier to know what an where you want to visit with words pictures rather than just words.

Exactly the right level of detail for our needs and produced to the usual DK standard - nice presentation and mix of illustrations. Helped decide upon visit priorities during our limited time at each place in Australia

Actualizo tras volver de Australia: A esta guía le falta mucho contenido, si no llega a ser por Internet y Google Maps, nos perdemos muchas cosas del viaje. Mil veces mejor la Lonely Plannet. Recomiendo NO comprarla. ---- Compré esta guía muy ilusionado porque tengo muchas más de DK, todas en inglés. Estaba diseñando mi ruta por Australia y leí lo bien que se habla de Alice Springs como base para visitar el Red Centre y el centro del país. Estaba a punto de reservar varias noches de hotel cuando decidí mirar en Internet opiniones sobre la ciudad, y me encuentro con que es la ciudad más peligrosa de Australia, con unos muy altos índices de criminalidad. Se recomienda evitar pasear por la calle en ciertos barrios partir de las 10 de la noche entre otras cosas. La guía no está a la altura y fallos como éste son incomprensibles, ponen en riesgo al turista. Recomiendo encarecidamente visitar Google y no prestar atención a esta guía.

Very remote locations (i.e. Munjimup!) indicated as important to see! Who wrote this guy really wanted to misdirect people to irrelevant and lost places, like Munjimup in WA. I used to like a lot Eyewitness travel guides, but after the one I bought for Australia I'll think twice (and more actually) before buying another one.

I usually buy DK's Eyewitness guidebooks, as they are full of great maps, good information, colorful pictures -- all in an easy-to-read format. I was happy with this purchase too. I think DK's books are chock full of where to go and what to do, but light on accommodation and restaurant info.

I chose the wrong book for historical and regional info for the area. Tourist info only here.
