.com As if it weren't enough that the creators of the PBS kids' series Clifford concocted a cartoon worth watching for its old-school charm, they've also finagled a fine balance of morals-building story lines and freewheeling fun. Cases in point are on the four-episode Here Comes Clifford, in which good-girl dog owner Emily Elizabeth and the enormous titular red pooch help put to rest preconceived notions, especially when it comes to appearances. In the first episode, "Little Clifford," Emily Elizabeth chooses her soon-to-be-supersized pup from a neighbor dog's litter. As Clifford shoots up, his family's forced to leave the city in search of roomier accommodations. The message: just because Clifford's different doesn't mean he ought to be abandoned. That same sentiment swivels into the next tale, "Welcome to Birdwell Island." Here the townies balk at Clifford's bigness until disaster strikes and they come to recognize its value. The third episode finds bow-clad bow-wow Cleo sending T-Bone into a tailspin over his once secure position as Clifford's best pal, and the final segment, "A Ferry Tale," proves that, in order to be on the cover of Prize Pup magazine, a dog sometimes needs to do more than sport a shiny coat. Each episode is a praiseworthy primer for the kind of important life lessons that'll keep kids out of the doghouse in the future. --Tammy La Gorce

The Best of Clifford the Big Red Dog
This is a very special show for me. When I was younger, every week day morning I'd wake up, eat my breakfast and watch Clifford the Big Red Dog and then go to school. This show would always put me in a good mood. Now, as a teenager I honestly still love Clifford the Big Red Dog. Now I know most teenagers don't watch Clifford but I personally think it's a great show for all ages. Clifford the Big Red Dog has positive messages for kids and I personally think its enjoyable entertainment for older viewers. Thanks to Norman Bridwell (author of Clifford the Big Red Dog) and Scholastic we have Clifford the Big Red Dog, one of the best children's shows ever made. The cast for Clifford the Big Red Dog is perfect. Clifford is voiced by the late (sniff) irreplaceable John Ritter. (I mean really can you imagine another person voicing Clifford?) Clifford has three best friends, Cleo, (Voiced by Cree Summer) T-Bone, (Voiced by Kel Mitchell) and his owner Emily Elizabeth Howard. (Voiced by Grey DeLisle) Some of my favorite episodes from the series are "Tummy Trouble," "Mac's Secret Dog Club," "Screaming for Ice Cream" and I could go on and on.When I found out they're DVD's of Clifford the Big Red Dog I started buying them almost instantly. (I only have a few more to go) In this "best of" there are a collection of five DVD's. They have all been previously released but if you have not bought these Clifford the Big Red Dog DVD's already you should purchase this collection. (It saves you a lot of cash)Clifford the Big Red Dog DVD's usually have around eight to ten episodes on each disc. But I wish we had the episodes in their entirety. Unfortunately these DVD's don't feature all these segments in an episode, but all's not lost. In the bonus features I was relieved to see they still had a few Speckle Stories and Clifford's Big Ideas. (Hopefully one day Scholastic will release seasons of Clifford the Big Red Dog)The Best of Clifford has five discs contained in a plastic box which doesn't scratch the discs at all, and a pamphlet that features the episodes just in case you forgot which discs they're on. Since you might not know what episodes are included in this set I'll list them below. The first disc is the DVD Everyone Loves Clifford! And Good Friends, Good Times and the episodes included are;Jetta's Tall TaleEveryone Loves CliffordClifford Grows UpCyber Puppy ProblemsWelcome to the DoghouseA Friend in NeedStinky FriendsJetta's FriendFriends ForeverForgive & ForgetThe second disc is the DVD Doggie Detectives and the episodes included are;The Kibble CrookDoggie DetectivesWho Moved My BoneTo Catch a BirdMac's Secret Dog ClubThe Truth about Dogs and CatsGood-ByeT-BoneMagic Is in the AirThe third disc is the DVD Rock N' Roll Clifford! And Clifford's Fluffiest Friend Cleo and the episodes included are;Stormy WeatherIslander of the YearCircus StarsClifford on ParadeFluffed-Up CleoCleo's Fair ShareFriends, MorningNoon and NightTwo's CompanyThe bonus features for these sets include segments from the television show like Speckle Stories, Clifford's Big Ideas and Real-Life Doggie Friends. Some extra features included are Trailers, (wow that's some special feature, oh brother) a tour of Birdwell Island, a who's who game and learning the Clifford dance. This is a very affordable Clifford the Big Red Dog collection and I recommend it.

The Best of Clifford TRULY is the best!
My youngest son started watching Clifford on PBS this summer (my older son watched it when he was younger). He truly looked forward to Clifford, but the programming changed with the start of the Fall season. I ordered this set because I wanted a variety of Clifford shows to watch instead of the same one over and over and over again. This set is great! All of the discs are easy to use and are organized quite well. The exceptional PBS quality show is now ready for us to see just about any time! John Ritter and the rest of the cast make this show so much fun for any age to watch. The graphics are great, the music is great, and the story line is classic.I wasn't expecting the cute little plastic case that came outside the box. I am not sure what else it might be used for as it is not really strong enough for a storage container. We will probably end up getting rid of that part. The CD case holds all of the CDs inside quite nicely. If you like Clifford, this is the ultimate CD pack to buy! I highly recommend it! I know. I have already seen them all about 10 times each, and Clifford is a daily routine in our house now!

Way better than the new modern clifford tv show out today!
Great classic children's animation. Teaches your kids life lessons but also is just a fun creative show. Today I feel they try to make kids shows too much of a teaching lesson that it takes the fun out of it just being a fun story.I will also add that this original clifford pbs show, made in the early 2000's, is much much better than the new modern show out today!

Big Collection of the Big Red Dog
While my kids (a 4 year old boy and a 2 year old girl) like Clifford, he's never quite made it onto their A-List of must-see kiddie TV. That being said, they do occasionally ask to watch Clifford, and this collection is a boon in that it contains over 40 episodes, so they can watch all of Clifford they want without their Mommy or me having to watch the same handful of stories over and over and over. The collection contains 5 DVDs, and are packaged so that the DVD case isn't much bigger than a single DVD case. The case also comes inside a little plastic box with Clifford's face on it, which was a nice touch. The stories themselves are cute, inoffensive, and contain gentle messages about sharing, playing nicely, and so on.While there are more Clifford episodes out there, this collection contains all of the Clifford I'll ever need, and it represents a good value for the cost.

A Must Have for Clifford Fans
If you already own several other Clifford DVDs, then you probably should skip this since you'll probably get a lot of repeats. But if you're just starting to collect Clifford, this is a must have. Rather than buying 5 separate DVDs, you can get this wonderful collection for a fraction of the cost. There are literally hours and hours of shows on this collection, and the fact that they come in a neat tin case is also nice. It may not have every episode you want, but for the money you can't beat this collection and it makes a great start or centerpiece for your collection. Our daughter loves this show and we take this collection with us whenever we travel. There are so many episodes she can watch Clifford the whole vacation and not run out of episodes to watch! Definitely worth it!

Fun kid show
We love Clifford, this box doesn’t close so that’s annoying, but it was used. I am disappointed that this set doesn’t include all of the episodes.

Wow, well worth it - depends on the child though
My little precious one watches this all day long!. When she wants to watch it again, she takes me by my index finger and leads me to the DVD player, and then makes a howling sound LOL! But, my little one loves dogs, so... it depends on the child. We took this with us on a trip to Hawaii and this (along with Tinker Bell) kept her preoccupied throughout our 3 weeks of driving on Maui.None of that Carton Network crap you don't want your kids to learn from.
