Barefoot Books Bear on a Bike

This book is absolutely FANTASTIC! It is so fun and full of adventure, as the reader (mommy) I get really wrapped up in the text, it’s written so simply yet so rich. It is so easy to be animated reading theIs story and my 3 year old loves it! He loves listening to all the bear books but Bear on a Bike, and Bear takes a Trip he can recite a lot of the lines and Bear’s Busy Family is another frequently requested book as well. These are really great, quick stories that you won’t mind reading night after night. Purchase the collection!

I purchased this book for my toddler grandson because I thought he might enjoy it, which he has. He has been going for bike rides with his dad for months in his carefully purchased bike seat, observing the world around him wherever he goes. The Bear on the Bike book reminds him of adventures he's had cycling about Austin, TX on his dad's bike, even though Bear's adventures are a bit different than those of toddler, Ethan.His mom and dad enjoy allowing him to enjoy a book that he cannot destroy. Ethan thinks pages should be turned like his favorite toy, his parents' i-Pod. He's tough on the i-Pod and tough on most books. But, he has not been able to destroy The Bear on the Bike board book.We thank the author for writing this, and Amazon for making its selection so easy. Going to stores has been a challenge for me since injuring my spine, so I'm shopping mostly online.

Fun! Great images. Something new to see every time you read it.

All the books in the Bear series are terrific, but this is the one my daughter wants to hear almost every night. As others have pointed out, the illustrations are beautiful with bold, vivid colors. But what I also like is that there's so much going on in all of the pictures, so many things to point out on every page, it's a great learning tool for vocabulary and also for the imagination. The story is fun, even if the rhyming is a bit clunky in a couple of places, but I think that's my adult sensibilities talking -- every kid I've ever bought this book for adores it. This is a book that you can buy for your infant, but he/she will love it for years, as there will be something new to take away from this story as your child gets older.

Very cute book. Love the bear books, we have 4. My 2 yr old likes to look forbthe birds and dogs and cat on each page.

This is the story of a wealthy bear escaping a doomed planet and the poor curious boy who wants to tag along. The bear makes his way from a market to a beach where he hops a boat for a private island where he dances with royalty and finally catches a commercial space flight off planet. The tag along boy who was desperate for the bear’s company is left wondering what’s next. Excellent commentary on our present societal woes.

My 2 year old son’s favorite book. The illustrations are beautiful and this series is so sweet and warm. We love reading them before bedtime.
