Great value and performance
This is a great MACRO Flash....it's used for CLOSE UP photography, meaning you're only inches away from your subject. DON'T try to use this to take Portraits, Family Holiday pictures, Classic Cars at the Auction or Sporting Events. This is for close ups of Flowers, Bugs and maybe Postage Stamps, Books, etc.. The color Balance is very close to Daylight I haven't noticed any color variations shooting Orchids with diffuse daylight(a Hot House/Green House)and this Flash. A very nice feature of this Flash is the "step-less" power adjustment (the power dial)this is much better than the other Brands on the market where you can only have 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or Full power. Another nice feature is the ability to turn the LEDs on for focus or composing and then you will get the Flash when you trip the shutter, it looks like 2 or 3 times brighter than the "ON" lights. If you are thinking about shooting glossy subjects you'll need to look at something else for lighting that, you WILL SEE the ring reflected in your subject, but if you shoot at an angle you can eliminate the reflection..careful planning and composing is needed. Also just for information's sake I have a Fujifilm HS30EXR that I use this with, and I shoot in Shutter Priority Mode and I shoot a few tests to get the exposure right..90% of the time it's at the lowest brightness setting at f8, ISO100, with the Flash/Lens about 4 inches away from the subject.

Hard to beat for the price
I've only used this ring flash a few times but it did the job. It includes a large set of screw-on plastic adapters that will fit a variety of lenses (as long as they accept a screw-on filter). You do have to remove the adapter whenever you want to use a filter or even your lens hood, but this is a minor inconvenience. I really like that you can adjust the brightness of the LEDs.On the down side - and this is more than offset by the low price - the unit is not manufactured to the standards that a professional photographer would expect.

Great product
As with a lot of LED lighting, it can cause a little blue-ishness on skin tones but overall it's a great conversation starter (I've had more people approach me than ever before just to see what this light is all about) and it's a solid product despite being cheap plastic. I've been pushing the boundaries somewhat and using it for video and I'm very happy with the dispersion of light that hits my subjects faces. It's a lot more diffused than a regular speedlite.Overall, recommended.

This is NOT a true flash
When it says "flash", it means that your camera triggers the LED lights to light up very bright. LED's, however, cannot be compared to a true flash like a Canon Speedlite. This would be amazing if it were a true flash though, and I do appreciate the ability to attach the light to the shoe mount or on the lens. It provides more versatility to the product. It will work well only when mounted on a tripod, unless you crank your ISO very high or adjust your aperture to 1.8 or lower.

Fantastic Value.
What a fantastic value!A couple years ago the only similar solutions were many hundreds of dollars. Some things "made in China" are a blessing, at least to the under-funded India film maker. Highly recommend this system!

It works fine
The lighting is very good. The controls are friendly. Works and synchronizes properly with my Canon Rebel XS/1000D. The construction feels a little cheap but for the cost it has, is an excellent accessory for amateur macro photography.

Not much wrong here.
Well, this product definitely delivers what you pay for. I'm going to say straight off the bat that I purchased this with the incorrect assumption that it was the type of lighting I was looking for. I purchased this to try and create the "halo" catch lights that you will see every now and again. I didn't realize that the lights that create those reflections in a models eyes are 18 inches in diameter or more. My mistake.Seeing as how that's my fault I can't blame the product, but it does have a few small flaws.Pros:-It works, and wasn't broken out of the box. Something many worry about when buying "not-so-brand-name" products-Nice and bright-Easy to figure outCons:-Doesn't quite fit into the shoe mount of my T2i/550D. It still functions but the metal plate that slides into the shoe mount is a touch too large for my comfort, it could stand to lose a few MM to fit more comfortably.-Could dim further, it goes from "kinda bright" to "very bright" and doesn't come close to dim. I have no problem staring into it at full brightness but many others complain about it's brightness.Summary: Does it's job very well, just a little unsettling with how poorly the shoe mount fits and I wish it would dim further, but other than that it's perfect.

Great service and delivery, slightly disappointing performance
I ordered this Ring Flash to complement the lighting in macro photography. Ordering proces and delivery were excellent and the flash arrived in great condition. When testing the flash, it's performance is ok, but not as good as described in other reviews. It has satisfactory performance in macro shots, but it performs really poorly when shooting portrets, even though the manufacturer claims it should work fine.
