Just hooked it up today. Hand tight, didn't use any tools. It's working great so far, no leaks at all! I honestly expected it to leak after seeing the reviews. Maybe they got a bad one or just user error.. For the price, this is excellent! It's like the old egg timers, no batteries. You can hear it clicking if you get close enough but it's a lot quieter than the egg timers, you'll only hear it if you put your ear up to the dial. Just push and hold the little black switch down and turn the dial to the preferred time you'd like it to run, release the switch and once the timer reaches 0, the switch flips back up shutting off the water. I tested it and set it to run for 15 minutes, as soon as it reached 0, the switch flipped up and the water immediately stopped. No drips, nothing. I don't have to worry about forgetting to turn the water off anymore! My wallet will appreciate this $10 fix! Haha. Also, just a heads up, that little black switch is the shutoff valve. If the water is on, as soon as you push that switch down, the water will immediately start running. Good flow, easy to install, and easy to use.

I bought this Orbit mechanical water timer because I wanted a simple way to water the lawn without forgetting to turn the hose off. It is not a precision irrigation controller, so I would not expect minute-perfect accuracy, but for garden watering, sprinklers, or preventing wasted water, it works well. Overall, this is a practical and useful little tool. Simple, inexpensive, and worth having if you use a hose regularly.

I've had 2 of these water timers for 6 years they work fantastically. If you are paying for water they save you money. No panic 2 am runs out to the yard to turn off sprinklers. The operation is simple and foolproof. Easy to tell exactly how long they run. The timer is accurate. No batteries to replace

Absolutely love this timer set it and forget it turns the water off automatically so I don’t have to worry about making sure my sprinklers get turned off there are no batteries. It’s very reliable and easy way to water your lawn set it and forget it.

Works fine when it works, but this is not a durable product. The plastic material is the issue. After one season it suddenly stopped shutting off. I usually water at night and I wake up to find it was running for hours. I have barely used this product more 50 times and i can no longer trust it.

Orbit is getting a five star rating from me because of how they made things “right”. I bought this product last year, used it and loved it. It worked without fail. But sometimes things go sideways and it stopped working. I went online, found Orbit, customer service, made a phone call and told them about my problem. They are replacing my unit at no charge. The process took less than 10 minutes to complete. They have a customer for life!
