Does this mouse have a scrolling feature?

The mouse has a very small ball (looks like a dot in the photo on the top of the mouse). It performs the scrolling function. One caution with this particular mouse is that both my old one, as well as the refurbished one I bought is that the scrolling function is not reliable. I think something gets gummed up inside (have not tried opening and cleaning). With both of them I can scroll down, but scrolling up behaves erratically. Apple no longer makes this specific mouse. I may get another mouse, either an old style with the USB 2.0 connector, or get a newer mouse with a USB 3.0 connector, providing only an adapter is needed for it to work when plugging into a USB 2.0 port.

how long is the cord?

The cord is shorter then my old mouse wired . It is about 19 inches long
