Taiyaki madness
I was craving for taiyaki and thought of just making them myself. I was hesitant at first on buying this since there's not a lot of reviews but I found a few videos on YouTube and it seems pretty easy to use.The manual is all japanese so I had to use Google translate for translations. The only thing I didn't like is the mold is small and not that deep so you'll only be able to put a little amount of filling.

Excellent Korean bunga bbang | Japanese Taiyaki maker
I am so glad I bought this to make my own Korean bunga bbang (taiyaki) pastries. I fill it with sweet red beans or whatever filling I like. The plug is an American electric cord so no need for a power converter. Super easy to use & clean up isn’t too bad, best to clean while machine is still a bit hot to get all residue off.

Needs $40+ Step-Down Voltage Transformer for US
FOR ANYONE RESIDING OUTSIDE OF JAPAN: To use this product safely you will need to purchase a (relatively expensive) Step-Down Voltage Transformer. Japanese outlets output 100V, which means all appliances made for Japanese consumers need to receive power with 100V. This taiyaki machine is no different (as you can see in the photo attached). For the vast majority of countries, the standard voltage output is different. In the US, it is 120V. While this difference in voltage may not be a big deal for a lot of electronics, anything with a heating element you have to be careful with. These transformers are very expensive on Amazon, ranging from $40-$200 when I checked for them, meaning the cheapest ones are almost the same price as the taiyaki machine. I imagine the pricing is not any better elsewhere. I would suggest buying a cheaper machine on Amazon that works with your local outlet voltage standard.TLDR: Don't be like me and purchase this thinking that it will be completely safe to use outside of Japan without expensive extra equipment.

A fixture in our house
I love putting thick apple sauce as the stuffing in the fall.My kid loves the whimsical shape, and likes to touch the eye.For best color contrast with the pattern, grease generously. For best tensile strength, add extra grease to the batter and minimal grease to the pan.We make some of our regular waffle batter in here. Works great too.It is a different shape than the standard one I remember back in Japan, but I still love it. It has the "amaze your friends" quality.I think I would equally love being the only one on my block to have one and living on a block where everyone had one, and fed me warm taiyaki pastry when I came to visit.

one of my favorite purchases!
As someone without a gas range, I can't buy one of those metal range top fish molds and this was the kind of device I needed. I've used it at least once a month for quite a few years now and it still works great! It might run a little hotter than intended due to the differences with the US and Japanese power systems but nothing has broken yet

Cannot make fish shaped cake
This is not a worth of your money. Please see the previous reviews. It doesn’t make a good fish cake. Even though, I brush oil on the surface but still stuck on it and hard to get them out of the machine. I am going to return it.
