Great Bike Rack!
Wow, this is a hidden gem. Despite having only 2 reviews, this is actually a great bike rack. Not sure why the other platform racks show up in the search. I came upon this rack on accident. It was hidden under another bike rack I was looking at.I read the 2 reviews and compared it to the Swagman XC rack. I gambled and went with the prorack and am glad I did. This is a solid rack. This rack looks a bit more "sporty" than the XC rack. The XC racks look "dated" compared to the prorack. The prorack also has rubber wheel straps to secure each wheel. The XC rack does not.I am using this on my Infiniti G35 coupe with a sketchy hitch install. So I will only be using it to move 1 mountain bike for the moment. I am happy to see that I am not forced to install all 4 wheel support. (Don't want anyone saying "but your rack can handle two bikes!) lol So I only installed 2 of the wheel support and will remove one of the top bike support to finish it off. This thing came in a box and to my shock it was in several pieces. It was hot early today so I decided to push it aside until it was cooler. I just finished putting it together in the garage and was sweating like crazy. It's still hot.I manage to put it all together in about 15 minutes. While in the box, it felt really heavy. But after putting it together and folding it to store it, I was able to lift and move the rack with 1 hand.I also purchased the curt's stabilizer strap. But it looks like the rack sits too low for me to use it.I'll put it to use Saturday and will update my review then.*** Update ***The included bolt takes forever to tighten. I was wrenching it for a good 5+ minutes for it to finally get tight. The entire length of the bolt is threaded and you cannot use your fingers. You have to use a wrench to get it all the way in. I've seen other bolts that just slide right through and you just tighten the other end with a nut.The rack itself is great. There is some slight wobble so I just drove a little more cautiously when the bike is on. The only issue I had was my bike pedal clipping my rear bumper while I was trying to get the bike on. So just be careful where your pedals are. I also secured the pedal by wrapping pedal with the leftover nylon strap from the "curts stabilizer straps."Since the bolt needs to be removed and put on with a wrench, installing and uninstalling the rack is a bit time consuming. It's a good 5 minutes to remove the bolt by hand. Also, I just weighed the rack and it does not weigh 40 pounds. This rack weighs no more than 25 pounds.

Good quality, good price.
Update April 2016... After owning this rack for two years ... I still like the rack ... But I am disappointed that the pins holding the arms and upright have corroded and the little bearing holding them in place is failing now... The pins are not falling out ... But theoretically they could. The manufacturer should find something a little more durable... And easier to put in and pull out... Something like the trailer hitch pins with a built in clip.Easy assembly, seems to be well made, and keeps bikes apart so they don't damage each other. With the hanging by the crossbar type rack, I was always using bungee cords to keep things apart, and changing the seat height to avoid contact with the other bike's handle bars. It is amazing how much damage can be done when things are rubbing together on a long trip. Also had to use an add-on crossbar to carry my wife's bike and my bike was always at a weird angle due to a slanted top bar. This bike rack solved all those problems. First, since the wheels sit in the loops, they are level. The larger bike should be closest to the car, since the hold down facing the car is above the hold down facing away from the car. I was a little disappointed initially, that to load the first bike I had to squeeze between the rack and the car, until I realized that you could lower the center pole, load the bike in the loops, and then put the center pole upright again... Pretty easy. To load the bikes, you put the tires in the loops, pull down the ratcheting hook over the crossbar, and fasten a rubber strap across each wheel. The bikes seem to be plenty secure. They are not locked in any fashion, so you would have to rig a cable lock if that is important. I did have to make one modification to the ratcheting hold down for my wife's bike due to the fact that her crossbar was so low on the bike. I needed to shorten the arm by an inch and a half so the hold down body would not "bottom out" before the hook secured the low crossbar on the bike. To do this, you have to remove two rivets, and cut off a portion of the pipe, drill new holes in the pipe, and use something to replace the rivets. This is easier to do off the rack, so you can remove the cap on the center pole (there is a small plastic catch you have push in), and then slide off the ratcheting hold downs. Beware that the rivets are made of a hard material, and drilling them out is not easy. Also watch that the heat generated does not melt the plastic holder. It would be nice to have the ability to make some adjustment on the length of the arms... Maybe next year's model. ;)

Really good for the price
I compared all similar style hitch racks, and decided based on features included with the cost .S/R and Installation:I received this item today double boxed + OEM box, so it was in good shape, the instructions are clear and all items are individually packaged making the Installation quiet easy as well. There are imperfections in powder coating on one of the trays, not a big deal for me.Hitch Attachment:The unit comes pre-installed with a rubber 2" receiver attachment which fits my 4runner, I just hand tightened the threaded PIN then used a 19" ratcheting wrench. I drove around the sub division with the bike and there was as much of a wobble as expected with a single pin mount. I may modify and create a top anchor point in future for off road use.TRAYS:The tires are held firmly in place with thick rubber straps and the attachment points are oval shaped pieces welded on the tray body..nice, since only the straps may fail near term, I will also be using a backup bunjee cord as well. The trays can be moved back and forth via a knob to accommodate various bike lengths (eventually if they fail, I will replace with a metal wing nut), you will have to fiddle with moving one of the trays when the rack needs to be folded up, otherwise the two trays will hit each other before the 2nd arm pin can be inserted (if one of the tray had a pivot point that would not be a problem).Ratcheting Arms:The arms press down firmly and have ok padding, I will be adding additional layers of protection. The ratcheting system seems to be plastic as compared to metal in the other models (from images), so durability may be a questionI will update the review, if anything comes up. Thanks
