OXO Good Grips Easy-Clean Compost Bin, White - 0.75 GAL

We love this counter top compost bin. We've never had any issues with smells and it's very easy to clean. It's exactly the size I was looking for- doesn't take up too much space, and holds the right amount- we usually empty it every few days. It seems durable- isn't showing any wear after 7 months of daily use. I'd recommend this product!

We've had this for a year and it's by far the best compost bin we've ever bought. When the lid is completely closed and sealed, you can't smell or see the compost, which is what I really want in a bin. I have a sensitive nose to rotting fruit and can't ever smell it coming from the compost bin now. Bonus points for no flies swarming around this when the weather heats up, like with other bins that have open tops to aerate the compost (you really do not need to do that in your house, a few days with a closed lid will not ruin compostable material).My partner throws some baking soda in the bottom of the bin, as it can stink between bags (we put it in the dishwasher about twice a month). We typically remove the green bag and take the trash out, though the handle is sturdy enough to cover the walk.Overall, this is again a really nicely designed kitchen tool from Oxo.

This compost bin is durable, nice size and looks nice on our counter. Does not leak. Easy to empty out compost and removable lid makes cleaning easy. Seems to be good quality even after two years.

This is a great compost bin and I had used it to replace my free one from the city which had venting holes (and smells). So this was superior in that regard. The bags were a better fit in the smaller size of the OXO products and this provided great control over smells however somehow we were finding fruit flies inside the bin that were waiting to fly out when we opened it. This was confusing, because we had not changed our practices around washing fruits / vegetables etc, only change was using this instead of tying scraps inside a produce bag. So we ended up returning the OXO bin and considering going back to previous way to avoid fruit fly issue which was quite sad because I liked the bin and really hoped / wanted it to work.

Good size bin. Allows enough material for a few days of use without needing to empty it daily. The lid fits fairly well and keeps smells contained. It could probably do with a charcoal filter on the lid though. It dissembles for easy cleaning and the bag holder rim works nicely.

This is a perfect size to sit on the kitchen counter top next to the sink against the wall. The lid stays open and is easily removed. The entire bin mostly has smooth surfaces to allow for easy cleaning. Incredibly easy to line with a bag and the lid keeps the bag from drooping. Sturdy handle. Absolute amazing job to the folks who designed this with so much thoughtfulness.

Update: 5/27/26: I gave the smaller size to my son and bought the larger size. I wish I had purchased this larger size in the beginning. I thought it might be too large. It is the perfect size. I can get a week's worth of scraps in this size. It even fits corn cobs. The rectangular shape is perfect. Having a hinged lid is perfect. Plates can easily be scraped off into the pail. The top holds down the plastic scrap bags. No slipping inside. I had peeled onions in this and could not smell them when the lid was closed. Also, and this is big for me, I could buy the 1.6-2 gal bags to fit inside. Just perfect. I know it is a little bit more in price, but absolutely worth it. Don't buy the pails that you need to take the cover off. This is just perfect with lifting the lid and it can stay up if needed. Nice handle that folds to the back too. Great product. Kudos to OXO on this one.Update: 2/22/24: 3 years later and this is still a great product. Looks as good as the day I purchased with absolutely no wear and tear. I also just discovered, why it took me so long I don't know, but the cover comes off so that cleaning the entire unit is a snap. This is 5 stars +.What a great product for storing garbage!!!! This is the size of a large coffee can, which I have been using for ever. Nasty to pry the cover off when you have raw chicken on your hands or just messy. The top easily lifts up and drop whatever into it. I don't use it for composting, but it would be great for that. For me, I place a non-leaking plastic bag inside and close the lid. I have not had any odors seep through. Highly recommend for all of us who do not have a disposal. Pretty enough to leave out on the counter. Very Happy. I got the white with a little grey band.

This compost bucket is fantastic! It has remained new-looking (and smelling) through many dishwasher cycles. The lid keeps odors down. It's attractive enough to sit next to my sink.
