Absolute best $300 laptop on the market...but...
Long story short, I would up giving my MacBook Air to one of my kids. I needed a replacement quickly and didn't want to spend $1K, so I looked for alternatives. Truth be told, it helps that I can connect to my work email (which is PC only) and I tried a PC vice Mac. The Avita is VERY good...especially for the money.A couple of items worth noting:Battery life is ok, but nowhere near MacBook or high end travel PCs. I generally get about 4 hours doing average work (coffeeshop work catching up on email etc.). If I shut off wifi, Bluetooth, etc. and just work in Word or PowerPoint, I can get 5 hours. The touchpad is a great size, but after using a Mac, it flat out sucks. It's tolerable (for the most part), but I generally wind up using my Bluetooth mouse and it limits my frustration.A HUGE positive is that it has a USB-C port that supports universal charging! What this means is that a new MacBook charger works - as does a generic USB-C MacBook-style charger ($25 on Amazon). These are SO much easier to live/travel with and I hate proprietary chargers. I was so excited to see the charge light come on when I plugged my wife's MacBook Pro charger into it. Within 10 mins, I had placed an order for a generic that's working perfectly! The screen is REALLY good. Every bit as good as my MacBook Air, but nowhere near as good as the high end Pro. It is easy to look at all day and I have zero complaints. The keyboard is borderline perfect - a clear copy of Apple design and function.Overall performance is fantastic for routine office work. I can generally keep the whole Office suite open, Chrome with 10-15 tabs, and a few specialized applications too. Zero issues. The 8GB ram, i5 and SSD = a great daily travel laptop.Frankly, this laptop should cost $500 - and at that price point, it would still be a good deal. At $300 it's a flippin' bargain. If the touchpad was better, I'd be in heaven. Neddless to say, it's a keeper.

Great deal i5
A lot to say about this super light and slick laptop. Real nice i5 processor and a lot of Ram . The battery lift was less than 2 hours which is not super long but good for me. And there is some trick I have to share with other potential buyer which is to run all the updates. That will help you laptop run smoothly. Overall it is nice looking , super light laptop.

good deal
I bought this laptop on sep 2019. I was looking for a device with some basic performance , i wanted a lenovo but was a little pricey for me. Then i wanted an hp and with the sale price was high too, so I kept looking, and I knew what spec i need, at least i5 core or equivalent, at least 8gb ram and 250gb ssd, son i found this diamont , i started to google about the brand and all the specs and videos on youtube, and I like what isee so, i gave a chance to AVITA CLARUS 14, and at the beginning the battery was my only issue but once i start to use more often it got better, also it is fast enough to do many multi tasks at once. Overall i will give 5 starts.Only cons 128gb, but i got a minisd card to add extra space.

Fast and easy to setup!
I bought this laptop since it was priced below $300 and appears to be quite capable. Easy to setup and not too much clutter. The colors are sufficient and speed is noticeably faster than my work Lenovo. Excellent keyboard and comfortable mouse pad add to ease of use. Quiet too with the SSD, like driving an electric car- very responsive and fast off the line. Sketchy warranty though- no info to register online and a vague website. Hopefully support won't be needed, but I will update this review if any problems occur. So far, so good!

Very bad design DO NOT BUY
Opened it up due to a severe overheating issue which is apparently due to a highly overclocked cpu (1.20GHz to 3.5GHz) and apparently the thing is all battery that needs to be constantly charging due to high power consumption right next to what can only be descibed as an oven. (a.k.a the cpu)

Constructive Criticsm
The laptop has a very cool slimy aluminum look, but unfortunately, not all that glitters are gold. The battery was no where to be detected unless i plug a charger (and it still won't detect a battery). I think Avita Americas should make sure they are working perfect before putting the laptops out there. Also, amazon should do thorough checks on their products, instead of indulging in a deceit business, whereby they displayed refurbished or uncompleted products as brand new and effective. I hope this helps every party involved, and future customers. Thank You, Moshood.
