2012 release from Hip Hop superstar Jeffrey Atkins better known by his stage name, Ja Rule. Born in Hollis, Queens, Ja Rule began his Rap career in 1994 with his classic hip hop group Cash Money Click. Over the next 18 years, he has created a name for himself in the entertainment world as well as building up a huge fanbase in the process.

A breath of fresh air in a stale hip hop climate
I have been an avid listener of hip hop for over 15 years now, so I know all about Ja's back story: the rise and the fall. Now considering majority of the hip hop world has written him off, you wouldnt think listening to PIL2 would change your mind. Think again. Not only does Ja still have the ability to make a bonafide hip hop crossover banger, this time he does it with pure honesty and depth. This is not your typical floss and flaunt it rap album. With tales of the dark side of fame and longings for better times, Ja Rule has never sounded so refreshing as an artist. Gone is the youthful womanizing thug. In its place stands a mature man who prior to finishing this album, faced his last moments of freedom before serving a 2 year prison bid. If you really do your research on where Ja was at in his life prior to this album, it makes the experience all the more believable. There is a dark undertone throughout PIL2, despite the extravagant production from 7 Aurelius. No high profile guest features here...just Ja. It's crazy how different this album is to the original Pain is Love, but definitely different in a good way. There are no faults that I can think of, other than it being slightly short overall. This one's made me fan all over again.

Realest Hip-Hop album of the decade
Simply put, this album has an amazing vibe and it's definitely my most favorite album to date. No wonder - with 7 Aurelius (producer) on board, you can only get hits and classic material. There are no filler tracks, just play and enjoy the ride! What artist would spend his last days and hours of freedom in the studio, recording an album? This definitely shows Ja Rule's love for his fans and his dedication to music. The concept of this album is truly amazing. It's like art. If you don't know Ja's story before this album, then I'd recommend you to listen some of his past albums to get a better view of PIL2's lyrics. This album brings back a lot of precious memories, especially for those like me who grew up with Ja Rule's music. In other words: Definitely a MUST-HAVE!

The most important album of his career
Well where do I start allways been a fan of JA and this album is a long time coming for his fans to me its not a comeback album people forget about R.U.L.E album with hits such as new york and wonderful to me its a return to the hip op scene and a welcome one at that. I would have too say that it delivers on all levels from his hardcore rap Venni Vetti Vecci days to his soft or melodic songs like on pain is love, Personally its a fresh album very mature album as things have changed in his life he shares the experiences on his songs you can feel the passion he has I hope he gets a good charting single because he deserves it my favourites are superstar, strange days, and black vodka get this album JA RULE IS BACK

pil2 was worth the wait
From 98 to 04 Ja rule made hit records. Even after the combined forces of dre, 50cent, and em took murder inc. Down (along with the feds) his last official lp, R.U.L.E., charted singles. Since then The Mirror became a mixtape, the U.S. elected the 1st Black President, 50cent can't sell records, Eminem somehow became "the g.o.a.t.", the mustang is faster than the camaro, (the camaro exists again for that matter), swag is standard, and nobody seems to remember Ja Rule, Bone Thugs, or Lauryn Hill for melodic, clever, and soulful hip hop/r&b. This is a great record. Not because I want it to be, but because even non Rule fans should appreciate this work...the same way I don't like Em, but he's a dope rapper.

Pil 2 was the outcome and jubilation was the effect.
Determination 2 succeed results in Pil 2. Like Ja said "Tough times don't last Tough ppl do." Pil 2 has landed in order to fill in that void. Smart artist + Smart producer = Surreal Project. For ppl in doubt, never look back, it distracts from the now. Ja is no longer young. He is in that grown man lane now. For those who still haven't quite grasped the concept that Ja is back just give Pil 2 a listen. The nursery rhymes other rappers spit don't compare. Pil 2 is real Rap/Hip-Hop album. They say to present your findings to the world even if what you find seems impossible to explain... well I found Pil 2. An artist is supposed to get lost with his music but easily find his way out and that is what Ja managed to do with Pil 2.Cons: Too Short, only 13 tracks.

Good Music. If you born before 85 then you will appreciate this music.
If you born after 85 your probably thinking Ja Rule is new or is trying to sound like Drake, or Kanye. Ja Rule created the ballet style rapping that has taken over the airwaves now. If you remember listening to any Rule albums pick this up you will not be disappointed.

It's Murdaaaaaa !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
