Perhaps the best romantic/comedy manga that I have read
I tend to give very positive reviews on books and videos here on Amazon. Part of the reason is that I hate spending money on items that I eventually dislike. I have spent my hard-earned money on all nine volumes of Bunny Drop and can say without reservation that it is one of the best mangas that I have ever read. Any mangas that runs multiple volumes tend to have some which are better than others. Even if I rate every volume as five stars, some in a series are better than others. Bunny Drop, on the other hand, has never disappointed me and every volume is excellent, in my opinion. In this final volume of the series, we see Rin and Daikichi continue their struggle over what it means to be a family in today's world. That, for me, is the thread that ties all of the volumes together. The first four volumes are mostly about Daikichi and his thoughts about family and parenting. There are a number of places where characters discuss the difficulty of balancing family and work, the sacrifices parents make in order to rear their children, and the fact that most parents would not change a thing about having children. After the 10 year time jump between volume 4 and 5, it is Rin who searches for the meaning of family and what type of romantic relationships she can have as a budding adult. Volumes 5-7 show many of her problems with Kouki, a boy who she has known and loved since daycare, in flashbacks. Timing is everything in love and the timing for Rin and Kouki was always off, as was the timing for Daikichi and Yukari Nitani, Kouki's mother. In the volume 8, Rin admitted her romantic feeling for Daikichi, and Kouki discovered those feelings. This volume resolves these conflicts in a most satisfying way, for me. As the series progressed, I found myself caring deeply about Rin and Daikichi and wanting them to be happy. Thus, this final volume is a fitting ending, because that is what they have found. Many reviewers on scanlation sites and here at Amazon have not liked the time jump or the ending of the story. For me, I want the characters to be happy on their own terms and as Yumi Unita tells their story, it is a funny, moving, and totally engrossing read. I liked the flashbacks in the later volumes and, for me, the happy ending of this absolutely wonderful manga. This is one of the mangas that I have re-read several times and never seem to tire of it. I plan to buy volume 10, which is a series of stories that fill-in some of the events during the 10 year gap and give us a glimpse of "where they are now." I'm really happy that Yen Press has brought this manga to the American market. Unita has many puns and references to Japanese culture that don't easily translate into English. Kudos to Yen for taking on this task and doing an excellent job. If you want to read a series that remains with you long after you have finished reading it and want to return to it again and again, then this is the manga for you. My highest praise to Unita and this series. A truly exceptional artistic work.

not for some
the series of bunny drop was quite a drive for me, there was two possible conclusion for this series. one that everybody expected, and one that would raise eyebrow in America. the author gone with the later one, and i applaud him for that. while i enjoy the childhood story the most due to the adorableness, the teenage route give us a grim as life go on. it was hint many time in first few volume, and most reader wouldn't realize it but the reader have this idea from the beginning. personally i have no problem with this ending in anyway, in fact i love it. the judge of this, is up to the reader, whether u hate it, or love it alway up to u. regardless, this series was definably one of a kind and childhood arc should at least be check out, it would melt the coldest of heart.

Ending Feels Rushed.
Decent ending to the series, despite the huge ball drop towards the last few chapters. I would have liked to see the ending drawn out maybe another volume to give it more depth, but, while unexpected and abrupt, it was a great read. The ending as printed doesn't seem complete, and feels like a cop-out to a great series, as if the author got bored or ran out of ideas.

Teil 9: Offenbarung
