REVISED REVIEW: (5/5 stars) I'd like to thank the seller who responded to me quickly. It was within the same day I posted my review that I received a phone call and an e-mail addressing my concerns for this product. I said it was poor liquid dispense originally, but the seller said to shake it for a good minute prior to using it. The red was originally faulty, and the seller sent me a red replacement, which was a different brand than the originals. BUT my new red is vibrant and works just as good as the other colors. The seller recommended that I erase the board within 24 hours for best results at keeping the chalkboard in good condition and a solid clean of all color. She also recommended that I use the magic eraser with windex to clean the board....I used all of the colors on a chalkboard and waited 3 days to clean it, and the windex and magic eraser combo worked perfect! Just a side note, if you have a chalkboard that has pre-printed designs or phrases on it, be careful because the windex and magic eraser will smudge and eventually erase that as well! (I have a chalkboard to fill out monthly for my daughter). This product is definitely a 5/5 star review now. I would like to offer a bit of advice for the seller...It might be helpful to provide cleaning and more clear instructions for use of the markers.ORIGINAL REVIEW: (3/5 stars) These markers are vibrant and write well. However I gave them a 3/5 because I've followed the instructions to store them on their sides and to shake well and push the tops down before use. When using the markers I find they I have to continuously push down the tops to keep the liquid coming out smoothly. Additionally my red came out in a very dark red-brown. I'm assuming it's broken or faulty in some way but I can't use it at all. Also, removal is a pain. It leaves a shadow of the writing. The only thing that works to remove it is the magic eraser. But beware because if you scrub too hard it breaks down the chalkboard.

I have a lot of chalkboard signs and labels around my house and writing in chalk can get pretty messy. I saw these chalk markers at a friend’s house so I decided to get some to see how well they would work for me. First of all, these were shipped really quickly and packaged nicely. There is a wide variety of colors which is great! Before you use the markers, make sure that you shake them really well with the cap on. Then, open the cap and press the tip of the marker down on a piece of scrap paper. Keep pressing until liquid fills the tip. They are now ready to write. These colors all come out very bright and vibrant on a chalkboard or glass. I even make little notes on picture frames laying around the house to make menus for the week and stuff like that, almost like dry erase markers but better. You can typically just wipe off with a tissue, maybe get a wet rag if the color is being stubborn. Overall I would highly recommend these if you ever use chalkboards. They are way less messy than actual chalk and actually stand out a lot better than chalk. I did receive this item at a discount in exchange for my honest review. Bought these markers for use on a painted chalkboard. I was very pleased with the vibrant colors and they applied nicely. Just leave ample drying time. My only issue was that they did not erase/wipe clean from the chalkboard paint door. Consequently, I had to repaint the door and just used regular chalk the next time. They did however work very well on some write-on signs that I used as photo booth props and erased completely. It all depends on the surface. Overall I was pleased.

These "chalk" markers are a great alternative to traditional chalk! The reason why I put chalk in quotes is because they don't really produce a chalk-like texture or residue....they are markers that can be used on chalkboards. Granted, I haven't tried any other chalk markers but here's my take.....Positives:1) FUN colors! My 3 year old & I love these bright colors.....they are vibrant & easy to see on a black board (see pic)2) Tip options - Each marker has a reversible tip....one side that is angled (like a highlighter) and the other side that is rounded (like a sharpie marker)3) Cleanup - I use a damp paper towel followed by a dry paper towel to clean up & make a new palette. Also washes off little hands (because marker on little fingers is inevitable)Negatives:1) If you're wanting a more traditional chalk look in a marker form, this is not it. Also, like other markers, these will tend to somewhat dry out if "someone" tends to leave the caps off ;)Overall, great purchase for all kinds of arts & crafts fun!(Purple is shown with the rounded tip as a reference)

I ordered these for my kids during "quarantine / lockdown". I was hoping to give them an activity while simultaneously boosting the morale in my small community. They had a blast drawing and writing on our windows. It washes off very easily. It didn't stain anything that it had gotten on and they're easy to use. My only complaint is that we ran out of chalk so quickly. Some seemed to dry out faster than others, despite not using those particular colors as much. Either way, they were fun while they lasted. They're bold and bright and would come in handy for many surfaces.
