Japanese style laquered wooden sandals with cloth toe straps. These Ladies style "Geta" sandals are carved out of wood and raised so originally, if you walked through mud or wet streets, your feet and kimono wouldn't get wet. These geta are 9 1/2 INCHES long and about 3 1/3 inches wide. These are narrower for a ladies foot. (do not use for extreme dancing or running!) Please measure your foot, these are a narrow sandal. Although it is common in Japan to have a smaller geta than your foot, you might find it uncomfortable.

Geta Sandals
I really like to wear these sandals around the house when my feet hurt after long gigs in high heels... I just wish they had lasted loner! If memory serves, they lasted a few months before I had to rig them, then they broke beyond repair. I love the clack clack sound on my tile floors... I'll probably buy them again someday, they feel great!

authentic!
I wore an authentic kimono and wanted the complete look and these sandals helped me pull it off. People at the costume party loved them and I sure was careful to walk in them. Take baby steps and you'll do fine!

Don't do it
The shoe was made of balsa and fell apart before the first week I received them. Thankfully I found a better place to purchase geta from.

Bought for a costume.
Fit well. Mine were unfinished, so I finished them myself as I was going to be outdoors. Took a little while to get used to walking in them, but they held up great! I only really wore them for a few hours, though.

cute for indoor use
These shoes are very cute and surprisingly comfortable. I wore them all night with no problems walking or my feet hurting. The only thing I didn't like about them is that they were unfinished. The wood is very soft and not durable. I applied polyurethane to them and that helped a bit. But I would not recommend them for outdoor wear. But for indoors they are a great accessory.
